I was looking around in my car, and I can't figure out how to tell if I have side airbags or not. Anyone know where it says this or am I just supposed to trust the dealer???

I did!!! I registered my car and everything and when I went to look at the details to my car, it just says side airbags are available, doesn't seem to know based on the VIN number if I have them or not.

 

check your window sticker...should say what options were installed....

if you asked for them, and you paid for them, you should get them

 

if you still cant figure out, go back to the dealer and ask

and no, the dealer wouldnt steal your SRS side airbags

I'm actually just worried that after I told them I wanted Auto/side airbags, they forgot the side airbags part.

Just seems dumb that there's no obvious way to tell if you have them installed???

sure there is....take a turn at 90mph and roll the car....if u dont die, than theres a good chance they were installed.....

j/k....would side SRS airbags be a dealer install or factory install???....id think that would be done during production, not post-production.....

 

Normally when you have side airbags that deploy from the seat there will be a tag on the seat that says "side airbag" At least all the ones i have seen have them.

 

There are different types of side air bags in the newer Accords. Side airbags which deploy from the seat side, and side curtain airbags that deploy from the pillars and roof. Side curtain cars will have tags on the pillars that say side curtain on them.

 

the side airbags aren't really an option, they are upgraded in stages based on your trim level. take a look in the owner's manual.

 

Guess what, no side airbags and the price I told them I wanted to buy a car for included this. It's only been 2 weeks though so I am pretty sure I can just return the car and get a refund, right?

 

I've got a side airbag in my '99 LX. At least when my wife is with me. (rimshot)

DX does not have them, it is available in LX models and standard in EX, LX V6 and EX v6 model cars.

 

It's your lucky day if you paid for them to get installed and they didnt install them. Find the nearest telephone pole or tree and wrap car around it. If the bleeding from your head isnt to your satisfaction, mangle it a little more with a rock. Then sue their *** and get millions. Im just joking, that would be sleezy as hell, but they should definately make good on their error.

 

I'm pissed. Looks like I can't even return the car if I wanted to. The sticker doesn't include side airbags, but that's all I said I wanted. They pulled a fast one on me!!!! @#!#&@#&$# Salesman is calling me back tomorrow to tell me what they'll do.

 

just wondering which model did you get??? LX or EX?/

 

LX model. I really wanted the EX with curtain airbags but that was too much.
