Default how much power is too much on the streets?

i'm thinking about boosting my car in the future and was wonderin about traction on the streets and freeway. how much hp/trq is acceptable on the streets with street tires? i don't want to go all out and have a car that won't grab traction until 3rd gear.

most people say 300-350whp is about it...unless you don't want traction until 4th.

I wouldn't know from personal experience, yet.

somewhat depends on what kind of honda your talking about... as I would say a light civic would need much less than my heavy *** sedan.

I have like 200whp in my civic and I didn't have traction in 1st or 2nd until I got a nice new set of 195's... ever since then 2nd is pretty good, but w/ 300whp, third is going to be the first gear that has a chance, if your lucky.

It's not always a bad thing, though, it just sucks b/c we're fwd.

Depends on how hard you are on shifts. driving style and shifting style have a lot to do with it . i think anything over like 350whp will start to give you probs unless you have the susp dialed in real nice and some really good tires on the car. My Azeni's stick suprisingly good to higher hp. all depends on how hard i get on it though

2300-2600 lb honda with 300-350 hp is plenty fast for the streets, with that much power you should be able to beat 80% of the cars you encounter on the street depending on where you live.

Im with you though man, I just want a respectfully fast car on the street while maintaining reliability, and streetability. No need for a 500 hp no traction FWD honda for me on the streets

330-350 is what i want...@ 310whp before i was spinning all through 3rd (had **** suspension, etc) now with good tires, good suspension and traction bars im hoping it will be better, BTW this is in a ~2100lb car.

Since squeezing the largest azenis(215/45ZR16) under the fenders the car is begging for even more power. With my old all season tires the car will spin into thrid gear. With the azenis it is so tight and goes like mad. I'd really like to get it up to 300 hp or so.

300-350whp would be nice just run a dual stage boost controller, I have one for my mighty 215whp car In first gear just run low boost flick the switch once I go into 2nd Works a treat
