Default Will a dash from a 1996 Civic Ex work on a DX model

For some reason my 5speed does not have a rpm read out on the dash and i need 1. so i was wondering has anyone done this before or what they did about this problem...

the dash is the same.

i think you're talking about the gauge cluster, and yes, it'll work.

Yea on mine all i have is the fuel,speed and temp. Why I dont have a rpm read out when it's a 5speed is new to me. So i need to know if i put one that has the rpm,speed and the temp and fuel in the same will it work right?

yes it'll work.

And the DX model is a bottom of the barrel economy model with minimal options to keep cost down. The tachometer was optional and standard on HX's and EX's.

they are just gauge FACES, you need to get the actual cluster to have RPM's.
and those are ugly IMHO.

Correct. You are purchasing guage overlays, and it won't get you a tach. You need to get a guage cluster from an EX first, and THEN get those if you want it to look like that.
