Axles binding due to pressure and starting to click?
I have a 1990 Honda accord, my car is lowered 2.5 in front, with 350lbs/in springs. I've had this problem ever since I've had my H22A swap. Used Accord Int. Shaft, and Accord axles. My Rear motor mount has one crack, but I'm pretty sure that is not what is causing my problem. I use autozone remanufactured axles, and every time I use them, they start clicking when I turn after like 50 miles. I've been told that this is because my car is too low, and the axles are actually binding under the pressure and killin them. Is this true and should I modify my suspension or is it just a case of crappy axles from autozone? Thanks alot guys.
2.5 inches is pretty stressful on the axles along with power of the H22 so it's probably a combo of both things. the auto axles aren't that bad, they are remans so there can be bad ones, but for the most part they are good axles.
Yeah, it just sucks b/c I know other people with the same setup and never had this problem, thier car was just lowered like 2in. I have changed my springs to eibach pro-kits, but since my car looks like a 4x4, I'll probably start looking for some sportlines, they are 1.8in vs. 2.5 (or more) as what I have right now. And then also change the axles when I change the springs, thanks for your help, keep um comin!
I have the same problem. I have had 2 diffrent pairs of reman axles from napa. I have a 94 accord with h22. I raised my car with tokicos and eibach pro kit. I used to have coilovers on stock and it was worst. It still vibrates if i hit a big enough dip in the road. Mine also click. I am used to it now but i would like to figure this out also.
