why is my acceleration pedal so stiff for my 1996 hatch? its hard to keep it at a certain rpm.. anyone know what i can do to loosen it like how eg's are.

Your problem could be in the pedal assembly, the throttle cable, or the throttle body itself.

My suggestion would be, disconnect the throttle cable from the pedal and from the throttle body.
Grab a flashlight, poke your head under the dash, and move the pedal with your hand. If the pedal is very stiff, then that is you problem. You may just need to clean it up and relube everything.

If the pedal moves fine, go into the engine bay, and check the throttle cable for any kinks or nasty gashes. Grab the end of the throttle cable and make sure it moves smoothly inside its sleeve.

If it moves smoothly, then manually open and close the throttle body with your hand. If the throttle body is sticking, you will need to clean it real good with brake or carb cleaner.

 

thanks man.. but the thing is, i had a cx motor in my and now i have a gsr, both seemed to be the same.. but i will try to do wat you said and see what the results are.

 

That means the problem is probably in the pedal itself (I assume you swapped the throttle cable out for the gsr piece).

 

yeah i dink i use mah stock one.. should i get a new throttle cable?
