SlideRule Cup [autocross] Competition
The Sliderule Cup is a season points championship (March 1st through October 31st) open to all drivers in all classes of Solo II (Autocross) competition. NERDS Racing is not associated with any particular racing organization, so Sliderule Cup drivers will receive points for competing in any sanctioned Solo II/Autocross event with any club or region. Points are awarded according to how the driver finishes according to the rules of that particular club.

Indeed! I kind of wish someone came up with this idea about a year or two ago. I autocrossed as far north as MA, and as far south as DE... I may have given you a run Mikey.
Mark and I felt it wouldn't be proper for us to actually compete in this.

Nah I would have gotten yah last year too
I went to: Central PA, NEPA, BMC, BMR, Susquehanna, Lancaster Corvette Club, Cumberland Valley Corvette Club, Carlisle Productions, Philly, NASA-X, and North NJ.
11 different regions

hmmm, let's see:
SJR, Philly, M-Club, NNJR, BMC, PCA, NER... yeah you probably would have. It seemed like a ton! There are at least three other regions I wanted to check out. NASA-X, WDCR, and CPA... oh and I almost forgot, Susq... make that four. I also did an Evo School in Long Island, NY.
My hope for this thing is that the first year winds up being a relative success, and that next year more businesses sign on. I'd love it if some major R-compound tire manufacturer jumped onboard... or one of the race supply places.
I also want to do something for the novices who sign up. I'm thinking that Mark and I might front the money for a few prizes for them, too.

Hmmmm, last year, I did VMSC, CCR (SEDiv #1), Lonestar Region (Dallas ProSolo), Kansas Region (Topeka ProSolo #1), Tarheel SCC, Petersburg Pro (hosted by DC region), Atlanta Region (SEDiv #2), Detroit Region (Oscoda Pro), Kentucky Region (Peru Tour), Utah Region (Wendover Pro), and a PCA event at Ripken Stadium.... that's not counting some of the events put on at the same site, but by different entities, such as the second Topeka Pro, the ProSolo Finale and the National Championships (SCCA National Office); the DC Tour and two local events at FedEx Field (DC region), and the Peru Pro (over6racing). So, I attended at least 11 different "regions" myself.
Not to mention all the different classes I ran... STX, FS, L1, STS, ESP, DSP...

You will never win going to all those national/divisional events. Just hide out at local events so you don't face any real competition.

I think you'll find the variety of events will out weigh the points from the stand point of addition vs. multiplication.
Addition:
For showing up + 5pts
For trophying + 5pts
For winning class +5pts.
Multiplication:
Every region you visit multiplies your score...
but I guess in theory if you can match the number of regions you visit your chances will be better since you will be without as much competition. Also keep in mind, most regions award trophies to the top 1/3 or 1/2 of the field. So if you place 3rd in a field of 4, you are probably only going to score 5pts total for that event.
I have the feeling that those who do the National events are pretty busy almost every weekend with autocrossing... it should be pretty even.
Just some food for thought.
Anyone else wanna give this thing a go? I know the top competitors are looking for others to challenge them.
Thanks RJ and H-T for the bandwidth!

National events for the multiplier and local events for the easy wins. Piece of pie... Easy as cake...
