Little problem i need help with, please help a.s.a.p!!!!!
i have a 89 honda crx si (1.5L single overhead cam non-vtec). ok check it out. i got in my car one morning, and started it up, as soon as it idled for about 2 seconds i tapped the gas to hear the exhaust, when i did that it suddenly died on me, so i thought i fludded it (i did) so i replaced the plugs and got a new distributer cap, it didnt work. i have to get a new coil and some kinda of chip inside the distributer cap ( i forget what its called). i know its not any of the injecter and im getting plenty of gas. it turnes over when i try to start it, and i feel that the car just wans to kick on. if you think you might be able to help, please e mail me at http://WWW.VANILLAEYEZ1019@aol.com and for the subject please type honda crx. thank you for viewing my question.

so your car doesn't start correct? You answered your own question "I have to get a new coil, and a chip" So what is your question here? Is your timing correct? Did you line up the dizzy correctly when you replaced it?
Pull a plug out and attach it to the plug wire and see if your getting spark, If your not the coil is a common problem. You can purchase one from autozone for 20-30 bux. If I were you I would spend the money on a helms manual and do the work your self. If you take off the dizzy cap you can easily acess your coil. Read up and do a search on it. "top right corner on H-T is search function" be sure to select archived content for more results. Good luck.
That little "chip" is called the ignitor. If your car has no spark, then either your coil or the ignitor is the culprit. I would also change the rotor if you haven't already. I agree with EH3, get a Helms. http://www.helminc.com
