its really sweet. O man it does so much ****. and the best part IMO is mp3 ahh ya. but there is also some sweet things

 

SONY head units suck...they stop playing cds well after a while. GET ALPINE, i tell EVERYONE.

my friends had his for over 2 years. still perfect.

maybe yours sucked cause it was defective or you used it like ****.

 

a couple of friends and i all had sonys...not one good comment. IMO, sony's are just flashy. alpine and pioneer will liven up an i.c.e. system so much. try it, you'd be surprised.

sorry to flame, but ummm, return it and get anything but sony...Sony markets all their products based on good looks and fashion sense...Quality takes a backseat to looks...

If i had to compare Sony XPLOD in the car market, Rockford is to Beamer as Sony is to Kia... haha!!!

 

I have had my Sony Head unit for about a year and a half, not a single problem.

The best part of your system is the rockford components, i just put a complete rockford P2 system in my car, and i can honestly argue that I havent heard anything better and i have been in car audio for a long time...as far as headunits go...ive used them all. and while pioneer, and alpine make a great product you cant compete with the quality and functinoality of ECLIPSE, but i agree with everyone else here, take those EXPLODES and go get anything else before your whole car goes up in flames because you took the "pretty looking" route to car audio.

I agree with your statement on Eclipse Being the best
As far a Fosgate being the best in Car Audio, i have to strongly disagree. I have heard Fosgate and it just does nothing for me compared to Focal, Rainbow, Dynaudio, Seas, Morel, Scan Speak, MB Quart, Boston, Diamond, etc...

But it is all subjective, so to each their own

 

I had 3-4 sony HUs ,.. I sold them with a smile... Had 3 or so alpine HUs.. sold them with a frown... Holding onto my current alpine.

 

Have had my Xplode subs for a year now with no problems.

 

I can get Sony stuff for about 40-50% off, do you think it'd be reasonable for me to get THAT head unit that he has? So, i'd be able to buy that unit for about 160 dollars. If i were to spend 160 dollars on a lower model Alpine, Pioneer, or Panasonic, should i?

I don't really mind if sound quality isn't THAT much better. A car would be the worst possible environment for clean audio, so i know that i'd be wasting cash if i opted for something incredibly expensive like Eclipse.

 

man for the percentage off i guess i would buy them NOTTT!! i wont risk blowing any of my equipment...Given some people get lucky with their sony's but the AMPS are overrated, the sub lining is paper not rubber, the speakers are wierd, and unless your car's theme is going to be red, say PEACE to the Sony xplod...

 

Hah, i never said i'd get sony amps or speakers, even i wouldn't trust that stuff

I think the Hu should be alright, since i plan to run a cheap, yet effective US acoustics amp with some decent coax.

 

I alwayz like to say.. buy it cheap buy it again.. to me its not only the sound quality that annoys me with sony. its how cheap there stuff feels and looks.. the sony HUs i have had they dont read cds too great. but u kno.. if your happy. thats all that matters.
