k so all this abour camber not causing tire wear and its actually toe, is this true? what about traction, 3/4 in. of the insides of my tires are worn down, but the rest of the tire is fine. so if i get an alignment and my toe adjusted i will have no need for a camber kit? but what about my traction? i get no traction right now, so would a camber kit help so ill have more tire on the ground? basically i just want to know if i need a camber kit or not

 

even if you car is slammed and camber is bad, a camber kit only will make the A arm rub/smack the top of the wheel well (front wheel). b/c of this you have to raise your car little anyways. so there is no point in investing in camber kit if your car is super low. Get a camber kit if you want of fix camber, have a low low ride, and do mind a few KLUNK KLUNK (sounds of a arm hitting the wheel well)

 

the only reason i really want a camber kit is so i will get better traction because of having more tire on the ground, then my tires will last longer and wear more even. so basically i want a camber kit for better traction. which it will do, right?

 

better traction for going straight or turning?

 

negative camber helps with traction, espically launching out of the box and corners, negative camber will not wear tires quickly, just slightly uneven wear over the life of the tire, inncorrect toe will wear tires out very very quickly.

 

i need traction the most when launchin becuase i just sipn right now, so a camber kit wont really help that? if i just get an alignment and my toe adjusted then my tires will be fine for the most part?

 

When you launch your weight transfers to the rear, and you gain positive camber, you would want the car to have the tires flat when launching and some negative camber is going to help that happen in my mind.

um yes! too much neg. camber will kill your tires! so will bad toe though. some neg. camber is good for autox/roadrace, drag u will be quicker w/ 0 camber = more contact patch! if u are slammed u probably don't have a whole lot of wheel travel either. My suggestion is to raise it a bit if VERY low (fender lower than top of tire) and get a camber kit and dial it in to ~ .5-1.0 deg neg camber. handeling will be much better and so will be your 1/4mi times!
