Back to black, shoe polish, penaut butter, any kind of oil really, heat guns and paint are some options. All of them except paint are short term though,

Never personally tried the heat gun, but I've heard it works great.

peanut butter works (because the oil soaks into the plastic) but I know VW people used to use black shoe dye (not polish).

PB does a damn good job but so does a heat gun.

I've tried both the pb and heat gun, both wear down eventually, the pb about 2-4 weeks, the heat gun 1-2mts. I've heard its possible to burn away the top layer of the trim to reveal a fresh new layer that lasts as long as if it were brand new...but mine starts to bubble if it gets too hot so I have no clue on that. Paint or brand new is the only way to make it last years +

Edit : I noticed your talking about the part between the windows, heat gun wont work there, its only for the plastic moldings. For that part paint is going to be your best bet, or the dye stuff the other guy was talking about.

If you are talking about the plastic piece between your front and rear windows 3M rubbing compound will take out all scratches and shine it up(just like it does to paint) and follow it with wax.

EVERYTHING but this will be temporary. Just buy yourself this can, some tape, grab some newspaper, and you'll be on your way to new trim. Don't waste your time with peanut butter or all that other junk, just do this once and it'll be

That guy didn't and i didn't. All i did was to clean it thoroughly with alcohol. Afterwards, spray on one light coat, and let it sit or use a blow drier if you're impatient. At that point, the trim won't look very nice, you'll probably think it'll turn out like crap, but just let it settle. After about 10 mins or so, do another coat. This coat should even everything out. By the time it dries, the trim should look new. You could probably coat it again, but i didn't.

You'll be suprised. The small pieces of trim on the fender and quarter panel came out EXCELLENT! Not to say the long piece of trim didn't, but for some reason the little pieces came out extraordinarily nice.

All I could say is Duplicolor trim paint, works wonder and you dont have to put on every wash. Just make sure to tape off what you dont want painted. I did it on my CRX(white) and got a little overspray and was worried to death. Two days later I scrubbed it well while washing and it came right off the paint but not bumpers and trim.

I got some paint at a local Kragen's, which I believe is the same as Checkers or Shucks...just look for any place that has Duplicolor brand paint - your best bet is probably an automotive type store.

The only thing that sucks is that the stupid window trim that runs along the driver/pass window tends to crack, so we have to still buy trim from honda
