i already took off the C clip...but that just wont move...

Only some have c clips. If the balljt was replaced it more than likely wont have the clip. To remove the LBJ take an old beat up spark plug socket and slide it over the threaded area till it bottoms out on the LBJ. Take a bfh and go crazy on it. Ive done lots of balljts this way and its always worked. HTH

I have an accord... I just happened to search all forums and this one sounds like what is going on with mine... I don't know if they have been replaced before. and also how do u get the new b/j in then... I bought a press but it's such a tight fit that if there is another way to do it... I will do it that way. Thanks for the reply btw

The clip would be located at the opposite end of the LBJ in the pic above. The Accords have the exact same design as the crx/civic's so the same procedure applies. To install, clean up the hole the old balljt left and use the same socket to hammer the new balljt in from the top. hth

or you could do it the easy way.. like i did and got to autozone and loan-a-tool a manual ball joint press. very simple to do with it.

Default what about installing it?

-outsane- yes i hit the bolt to get it out.

well my lower ball joint is fucked up too, so instead of paying for a honda part i went to autozone and picked one up for 33$ with lifetime warranty. i tried installing it with their loaner tool and fucked it up. I got a new lower ball joint and was just wondering another method of installing it besides having a shop press it in.

You are making this way harder than it is. Clean the hole where the balljt goes and hammer the new balljt in. Simple, and it requires no special tools. BTW you should be hammering on the "flat" end of the balljoint(the opposite end with the shaft and castle nut on it).

last night I pulled out some ball joints that looked exactly like that one... you have pictured..

I got a 2.5 lb hammer and layed the hub on the ground and struck the stud until the ball joint popped out... easy peezy

i just hammered it back in...i used a wood stake to drive it in so i wouldn't damage the new ball joint for diy for high priced labor
