Default wet or dry?

I keep hearing over and over the best bang for my buck would be a nitrous kit for my lude. I have a '94 Si, gettin the engine replaced right now with a low mileage used one which has like 36K on it.... how the guy found it I don't know, but I'm not arguing. He thinks the original build will last longer than a rebuild, which I believe wholeheartedly. Anyway on to my question... I'm debating about a nitrous kit. I've heard NOS is good and Nitrous Express is a tiny bit better due to the hardware they use. I have no clue. And I am also trying to get opinions about whether to buy a wet or dry kit. A dry kit should be something I can do myself, right? I am confident I could hook up all the lines from the trunk or wherever I decide to mount the bottle, all the way to the front engine compartment and to the dry nozzle or to the air cleaner head like Zex sells, and it would save me a lot of $$ from the shop, right? Is there a real HP difference between the wet and dry kits? If I'm only lookin for another 50-75HP max, will a dry kit get me by? Or would people really encourage me to get it done at a shop?? I'm not a complete idiot about how an internal combustion engine works, just never dealt with spraying one before.

Before I had turbo, I ran a 55 shot of ZEX dry. It was a really nice kit. I put down 210 WHP with the 55 shot. I'd say I went through about 20-30 bottles in the time I had it, no problems. If you know what you're doing, you should be able to easily install it yourself. I would highly recommend a ZEX dry kit.

Just go with a NX wet kit....for the same money as zex or NOS you get better parts and a better kit. Dry kits are ok, dont get me wrong, but all in all you get more for your money out of NX. As far as wiring and installing, its not very hard. You can easily install the kit in a saturday.....I have lots of color schematics and other helpful tools for installing that I can pass on to you.....

I think it depends on how much you want to squeeze, if it's going to be something like a 50 to 60 shot then a dry kit is good, but anything over I would recommend a wet kit. I've also herd nothing but good things about NX kits. But remember, make sure you got a good ignition system before you start spraying and check your spark plugs regularly for any signs of danger.

Default NITROUS is so KOOL

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/371248/7

^^^ check out my webspace for info on my NOS dry kit. direct port is the best followed by wet single fogger kit and then the dry kit. remember that NOS rates the hp at the flywheel. im keeping the dry setup cause im going turbo in the future.
i recommend that if your are going w/ nitrous, get DP kit. hope that helps, lates.

Yes, you'll want to get colder plugs and retard the ignition a little.
i will be going with a zex wet kit myself

I am in the process of installing a dry ZEX kit. I've lost a jet and the previous seller didn't give me a fitting for the intake, so I am waiting on those... but install has been pretty straight forward so far. I am going to be running a 75 dry shot, NGK 2 step colder plugs, and maybe retard the timing a bit.

Oh ok, I was just wondering why people are recommending things when they've never used it before?

Heres the jist of it. Compare the parts of an NX kit vs the others....solenoids are better....they flow more, they last longer....What I dont like about zex is that you dont always get what you want....its adjusting things electronically (for those that dont know much) to make sure that the nitrous fuel ratio is right. Screw that, let me make sure that my pressure is right so when I jet a 50 I get a 50. I prefer NX because Ive got lotsa friends that have ran zex, NOS and other and NX in the long run is just better IMO. Most guys I know running NOS now run NX foggers and solenoids now. So Im not saying that the others are bad or not safe or unreliable, but when you ask what is best Ill tell you. If you want to see how hard it is to install I can email you a 1st grade level schematic in pretty colors that will show you how easy it is. I have installed a few NX kits and I can do it in 6 hours or so. As for the other upgrades....Id say fuel pump (its $85 bucks to get a walboro, big deal) and colder plugs if you want. I run stock temp iridiums myself on no retard, but I will be retarding my timing before I spray again. (In leu of my other mods)
