just ran the S2k
60'- 2.41
330- 6.536
1/8- 9.816
MPH- 75.53
1000- 12.594
1/4- 14.965
MPH- 94.97
I dont kreally know what the stock time for a S2k is i've to many didferent times. But someone may know the exact time. But i know i need to work on my 60'. I was launching at 4000 on that run i didnt have much wheel spin and i feathered the clutch a little. Second time i ran i didnt feather it launching at 5000 had a 2.7 60' and ran a 15.7
But does anyone have any tips. I know this would probably help more people out besides me. thnaks in advance.

Thats being a little too nice...
The s2k is a low 14/high 13 second(if you really know how to drag) car.
Just for a little comparison, the rsx type s runs faster than a 14.9 in stock form. What were other cars on that day running?

I agree with JMS JT, you need practice big time. Also it seems to me like you must be very high elevation. My 91 SER with just cai/header/weight reduction hit 9.5 @ 74.5 mph on street tires and 9.1 @ 94 on slicks.
There was a 2k3 s2000 with intake/exhaust/vafc running consistent 9.3's with 2.1-2.2 60 foots around 76 mph.

yea i know i really need to work on the time but i was really looking for like launch tips or any thing. Once i get going everything is perfect no missing gears or grinding them to death but getting them in gear really fast and good. But launching is what kills me it is the same way in my turbo teg(14.9) launching it was the pits but anymore help will be appreciatted

What were the track conditions like (weather, altitude, etc.)? What did you launch at? How are your tires?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Tires are fine. i launched at 4000 on my best run. It was about to rain temp. was about 70 degrees and im from alabama so im not high in alititude(dont know exactly)

I always launch at 7k and still no problems. *knocking on wood*
I was getting 2.0 60's and going 13.7. You can defintely improve big time on the launch. Good luck next time out.

might want to try lowering them a tad bit but it seems you weren't having traction issues.

Whoa... 15.7 in an S2000
OUCH! Were you taking off in 3rd gear? Or have an elephant in your trunk? I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but there has to another variable here... Even with your fairly "low" rpm launches you should have done in the mid 14's. Do you have non OE tires? How many miles on the car? ANy mods?

Yea 15.7 was cause of a bad launch plus I knew that one wasnt going to be as good so I didnt even try after that. But the car only has 11,000 miles on it. And just for the record i know these times SUCK so stop saying that.
And there are no mods done.

if your turbo ls ran the same 1/4 time as your s2k, than you have a problem wiht driving skills. how many lbs are you pushing out on your ls? launch around 6-7k's in the S and just practice a lot more. best way to get faster is to konw how to drive the car.

Please don't post unless the information you contribute is correct and can actually help.
DO NOT LAUNCH AT 3000. End of discussion on that.
LIke I said before civic15.8, launch the car at around 7k if you feel comfortable doing so, slip the hell out of the clutch and just keep the pedal planted. Your times WILL go down significantly.

Feathering it. It really needs to be feathered hard to run good times and keep it in vtec the whole time.

The only problem I have is launching. Launching is what was also wrong with my teg. 7 psi is what im runing. And next time I go to the track I will try the 7 grand launch. And yes I know I need to practice. Thanks alot lshatch and the rest of you, you have really helped.

Dropping the clutch will most likely either:
If you get traction- destroy the rear or just bog off the line. It will jump hard, but then just drop.
Or you may just spin.
Feathering it, will keep it at 6500 or whatever you launch at, at all times, keeping the car in vtec and keeping it in power at all times. Just practice it at the track, as the car launches much differently on the street.
