New Motor Or Rebuild
My Engine is Getting Old and it's a b18b engine....but the question is should i rebuild it with components....or buy a new engine....no way am i doing forced induction...totally not my idea of daily driver....but i know crower makes great camshafts and internals...but are there any other ideas...specifically for rebuilding a b18b with changin the head......for ls/vtec
get highier compression pistons
good set of rings preferably not oem
new bearings just shot peen and polish the rods
then throw on the vtec head and a good set of cams and
the ls-vtec wil be a monster

whats up mamaboy. you're name is funny, but is coo. i would say go for the rebuild but is going to cost you a bit. Ok here is my setup
CTR or ITR pistons "oversize" (your choice) note:the ctr has a little more compression.
brand new bearings
shotpeen rods, new oil and water pump, balance the crank to the right spec.
gsr head note: port it if you have the money.
B16A tranny (get LSD if you could)
get a set of decent cams. both tryp R cams are great, or you want to go with crower or jun.
and a good intake and exhaust manifold.
you should make about 200 WHP and in a hatch it should hit mid to low 12s.
its a great setup and its not that much money for a street/strip car.
well thats a street setup, but if you want to go hard core than you're gonna be spending more money for sleeves, over size pistons custom rods and others....
go with the rebuild man.
email me if you got any questions.
sorry i think i went a little too much on this post....

Rebuild it. Worth it.
The other two have made some great suggestions, you can do a couple things different...
Rods, Eagle. A few grams lighter than stock, and much beefier, MUCH...
Rings, if you go with OEM pistons, use OEM rings. Nothing has worked better from what I have seen on OEM pistons. If you change pistons, use Wiseco/Endyn. Worth every penny of it.
The Z10 block girdle will be a great idea depending on your RPM useage band.
You will probable want an ITR oil pump to supply the oil...
