okay h-t, i need some help and opinions. my carbon fiber hood is starting to crack. basically, the skeleton underneath is not completely connected at a few places and its starting to pull the rest of the skeleton off of the carbon fiber itself. im pretty sure i need to connect the skeleton back to itself, then fix the hood where is started to separate. what should i use to do this??? i was contemplating using a little bit of quicksteel and then just filing it down to make it flush. please give any suggestions

Sell it to a ricer for enough money to get a new OEM hood with paint.

 

If there deep cracks your not gonna like what im about to tell you.

If you have deep cracks that are growing, to stop them you have to drill at both ends. That way they stop from growing, but you have to be careful cause if you drill wrong youll make more cracks. Then fill over with some fiberglass and put a clear coat.

For the skeleton do you mean the piece on the bottom? You probably have a VIS hood, cause mine does the same thing, its not on the cf. What you could do for that is go to your local HomeDepot and pick up a can of roofing cocking (its black tar like stuff) and put alot under the skeleton and that would hold it there. Hope that helps.

its a jdmshit hood. ill see if i can get pics of it soon. most places are closed today cause of easter so ill have to check out that roofing stuff sometime this week
