Default Should I get this 99 GS-R for $8500?

Well, since everyone know, I've bought my 97 LS for $2500. I might consider selling it for around $5000 which I'll make a 100% profit. And I currently have $3k save aside. Should I just sell it for $5000 or more? It just passed the 100k miles and everything is clean and looks new. I'm the second owner for less then 1 month!

Here's the info of the GSR

1999 Black GS-R
FULLY loaded (moon roof, leather, power everything, abs, etc) also comes with LOJACK system and 1 (only) remote for arming/disarming as well as door locks.

mods:
Type R Strut bar
H+R Sport Springs
17" TSW Zenon wheels (some scratches but can be repaired)
Cold Air Intake
DC 4-1 -> hi flow cat -> custom pipes -> comptech muffler
medium tinted windows
red gauge cluster bulbs
red mats
red grills front and back (need repainting due to fading)

info: car was babied and taken care of, hardly raced and never taken to a track.
82,100 miles on the odometer and i think only 1 owner before me.
all maintenance done, oil at 3k and tune ups completed.
body is fair, scratches here and there but when it's clean it shines very nice in the sun, mechanical the car runs great, still whips around

Also, how much does this cost which he told me need to be done.
camber kit because i just dropped her few weeks ago and haven't finished suspension work...

if you can sell the LS for 5000 then do it. but i think it will be more realistic to sell it for 3-3.5k.

rims on the gsr
tints on the gsr
clear bumper lights on the gsr
red gauge cluster bulbs
red mats
red grills front and back
$8500.00 for the gsr
is the ITR strut bar a REAL itr strut bar? or a APC one with a ITR sticker on it?

the lowjack doesn't work. when the cops trace the lowjack signal to where it is, you know what they find? just the lowjack... no car. anyway do you really think that ricer didn't whip that car? look at it, he 'tried' hooking it up, you know he ripped it. 82k is a baby still for a honda. but im sure that 40k of that 82k was done whipping it, not babying it.

how is the clutch? how is the trans? if you where going to buy it; and your okie with paying 8500.00 for it, tell the guy to take off those rims, and put the stock gsr blades back on, and sell you the car for 7500.

getting a camber kit isnt to much. you just need the camber kit to set the wheels back to 0 which means they arnt rubbing out oneside of your tire. you can get a good set for like 200. if you lower your car, you can never really alligne it b/c the tires will never sit exacly right. thats when the camber kit comes in.

good luck with you mate.

It's personal preference, I'm not a big fan of the rims either, but don't think they are HORRIBLE. You could probably sell the rims and buy new ones. Make sure he did all the basic service on it, even if he whipped it the car would be ok since it's a Honda As far as the LS you are saying... well.. If a dealership can sell a 2000 LS with next to no options for 17000 I'm sure you can get at least 5 for that LS. If you like the mods he did buy it, if you don't, well then don't settle. Make sure you ask him about the service records though.

tints on the gsr mines gonna be tinted, i love tint
clear bumper lights on the gsr I like the bumper lights, have them on mine
red gauge cluster bulbs can easily be removed

red grills front and back ditto

Dude, if you like the car, get it. I payed 9800 for my GSR, with 78k miles, all stock though, and its a 99. If you can sell the LS, and hav ethe money to buy it, then go for it, but make sure it hasn't been ragged, run a carfax, drive it a couple of times, pop the hood, etc. Its ure money, and personally, i like the GSR. Even if you hate the wheels, you can sell them to some stunna and get other ones.

I paid 7200 for my 96 GSR with 72k on the clock. I would tell him to keep the rims and get him to come down on the price. If your patient you will find the right GSR, it took me 3 months to track down the one I have now. If you like the way it is then go for it, but I would get some service records for it. I got service records, I even got the original sticker to the car, all the books, manuals, spare keys, everything. He can definetly come down on the price, those are crackhead prices. Just be patient and don't settle, however if you like the car then go for it. Also he beat the **** out of it, he is obviously lying to you about that. If he put that stuff on there he sure as hell wasn't putting it on there for no reason. Most modified cars get beat on. Good luck with your searching, and purchasing.

WOAH THERE.....CHILL.....It's not like your buying the car... Anyways.

IMO I think 8,500 is a pretty good price for a 99 GSR w/81k I would still try to talk him down a few $100 but thats just me. After all its still a 99, you don't really need to take into consideration the high milage because its a manual Honda and they last forever if properly taken care of.

Hey I bought a 91 ls for $2500 fixed it up, used it for a year and a half then sold it for $3700 Put a down payment on a 2001 GSR with 10,500 miles on it and bought it for $15,900.

I agree with you about selling the LS for more than you paid, however I'd find a different GSR to buy.

thats only because we live in california... lol.... Minus the rims its coo. My friend paid 10k for his 98 gsr and it had some hubcaps on it, it was cloth interior, and it also had some other problems like dents... and he got a good deal.

ugly wheels. if he has the original rims, tell him to drop the price with the stockies

bad vanity mods...

what's up with the incomplete rear glass tint. did they run out of tint film?

Babied? hardly... look at the stains in the carpet and how dry the leather looks. The engine compartment looks consistently neglected...

What's the mileage on this geeser? I've found better deals online on other GSR's. You'll be better off spending the $8500 modding your LS than wasting it on that GSR with those hideous rims, and hype-R strut bar. What's the vin no. on that car , I'd be glad to check its black book value online, just provide me with the vin and mileage, and I'll tell you how much its worth stock.

well actually disregard my last post, I check the used car value of it online and here's what i came up with:

Base Original MSRP: $22,200
Series: GS-R
Body Style: 2D Hatchback
Mileage: 92,152

Condition/ Trade-In Value/ Retail Value
Extra Clean/ not applicable /$14,875
Clean N/A N/A
Average $8,475/ $10,425
Rough $6,205/ $8,500

Seems to me that the car is in "average" condition making it worth $10, 425 (retail) and the guys is offering you $8,500 correct? So you pretty much save $2000 right there. But then again you can just spend $8500 on a real TYPE R strut bar over a real TYPE R engine, seat your *** comfotably on some genuine TYPE R red recaros compare to those wrinkled leather seats, have your feet restin on an authentic TYPE R carpet compare to those dirty lookin floor mats, and have the car sport some real JDM wheels compared to those rims which seemed to be weaved by spiders.

That's just my 2 cents but the decision is yours to make.

Well it's gone now. Someone just called him and offer him the amount he was asking which is $9500. Just right before someone offer him that price, he gave me this a price of $7700 with all the stocks stuff and subtracting the rims. Well, hope someone is happy getting rip.

imo 7700 with the stock rims would've been a great deal despite what people have been saying about the car. oh well keep looking
