Any Help for coolant leak into oil on 4 cyl Accord engine
Any one have any experience with Coolant Leaks on 4 Cyl Engine . Antifreeze coolant is leaking into oil , i can smell it at exhaust pipe and oil level went up. DOES anyone know of a SAFE EFECTIVE product to seal coolant leaks permanantly in these !996 Accord 4 cyl engine blocks. Thanks for any information.
If you're leaking coolant into the oil, then no sealer in the world is gonna help you. Time for a headgasket homeslice!
Also if you keep driving the car this way you're gonna seize up the motor cuz once the antifreeze and oil mix, it's lubrication properties are virtually non-existent.

Thanks for the info , i am hoping it's not a cracked head or block .After i have my Mechanic check it out i will post the results. Are you a former Long Islander living in the Sunshine State?
I have no noticable loss of power in engine no overheating at all. Just the smell of burning ANTIFREEZE at the tailpipe and i used some antifreeze out of the reservoir . The dip stick is showing a 1/4 quart higher level of oil , would"nt the Antifreeze burn off inside the cylinder combustion chamber before it got to oil pan?
No, its rediculous to think that all the antifreeze in the oil will go only past the rings and into the cylinders. You shouldn't be getting much blowby anyway.
Hopefully its an intake manifold gasket or head gasket, not a cracked head or block. Fix ASAP. All you need is some antifreeze in your journal bearings (crankshaft) and your engine could be toast.

my votes goes for headgasket.
just look at the coolant if you have a chance, they should have a funny color and oily mix to it

John, I pulled the valve cover off and there was no sign of Coolant or water anywhere on inside or smell, there is also no sign of OIL in the Coolant /Antifreeze in the Radiator . I am going to take it to Mechanic and have Compression test , Vacume test, and Leak Down all diagnostic tests to detect a leak . Tahnks
You can also look in the (I can't think of the name) coolant pipe that runs in front of the engine and has a twist off cap. If oil is leaking into the system, sometimes you can see it in there as the coolant will be a murky brown color.

That's real good news. Do you feel like you dodged a bullet?
