The chains go on the two hooks that are made to pull the engine: one is at the front right of the head, right where the p/s is, and the other is at the top left but near the bottom of the engine near where the shift linkage is. You will see two metal pieces standing up with an elongated hole in them.

What do you mean by, "how do I disconnect the AC system?" Do you mean how do you let all the AC liquids out? Or how do you remove the compressor and all of the hoses?

Do I just unbolt the ac compressor and let it sit in the car with the lines attached?

yes, just unbolt the compreesor from the engine and let it sit in the car. Use some zip ties to help also.

If you have a hoist it's easier through the bottom. If the head is off it's easier from the top

Honda puts the engines in from the bottom. However, it depends on what tools you have. The top might be the easier of the two if you only have an engine hoist.

yeah if you have the head off the top is simple just remove the front mount and from the crossmember, rad and stuff and you can pull the motor forward and twist it and pull it out in 5 minutes...we just bolted the alternator braket back on and attached the hoist to a bolt and then ran the second to the hoist point on the tranny.
