Best year S2000 for track/street car
Hello S2000ers:
I am new to Honda-tech and am looking for advise on buying a S2000 that will be modified for track and street use. I road race another car which is becoming a dedicated track car and am looking at the S2000 as the basis for another street track conversion.
Mods to include suspension, brakes, trans and drivetrain upgrades. Roll bar, fire control and safety equipment a must. R compound tires on stock rim sizes will be used. Radiator upgrade will also be done. Stock motor to be incorporated.
Objective is to have an ultimate corner carver that uses cheap R compound tires and has Honda VTEC reliability. This statement will make alot of sense for anyone who has priced a Katech racing engine or gone through 6 sets of 18" 315's Hoosiers in a weekend.
Thanks in advance. The need for speed is universal.

yep, all it takes is a lightweight car with good overall balance and room for improvement. But if I was in your shoes, pick up a salvage title and go from there, it's a mistake to buy a new car and ruin it with a cage and get rid of the interior. That's what I'm telling myself if I ever get another car that I plan to de-value
*edit* I'd even look into used NSX's if I were you. Nothing like hearing a v6 scream at 8k rpm.

All 00-03 are basically the same, with minimal changes. I agree with Vapor, and pick up a salvaged title one, because you are gonna tear it up anyways.
Good luck.
Eddie.
