Default Taking out A/C for drag

Has anyone taken out their A/C for drag racing? I've been told it gives around 10ft Lbs. If you have taken it out please explain how it worked for you.

The A/C will have minimal effect on power due to the fact that when it's not operating, it doesn't cause hardly any resistance anyway. The primary reason most people remove it is for the weight savings.

I'm just starting out at this drag strip here in San Diego and I'm looking for every advangtage I can get. I've got a 99 Integra LS with AEM V2 CAI, DC 4-2-1 headers, and when I race I use a test pipe. Do you think the A/C will help with since I've got next to nothing on the car?

It won't make a difference noticable enough to justify removing the system. Being that you're just starting out, you should focus on dialing in the run and getting your 60 foot times as low as possible.

When I race I take off my power steering belt and it gives a little more throttle response, is it now true that the A/C will be similar?

No, being that there is only resistance in the A/C pulley when the system is operating the resistance of just a belt spinning a free spinning pulley will be virtually nothing. I would try to find speed elsewhere.
