Default Steering wheel spacer - I'm looking for a loooong one

Short story:
I'm looking for the longest 6-bolt steering wheel spacer I can find. (preferably about 4 inches)

Long story:
I currently have a Momo MOD07 steering wheel which has a 2.5" dish. Even with a long quick-release it's still not quite close enough - nothing a spacer couldn't fix though. The problem is, I would like to find a wheel with a larger diameter grip area. I'm finding this one a little small for my hands. The wheels I KNOW have nice grips have almost no dish though. So now, in addition to the spacer I already need, I'm faced with loosing 2.5" of dish as well.

Current wheel (2.5" dish):

Current quick-release (2.5" added length)

Spacers I have found:

10mm - adjustable to help center wheel - $22

Momo - 15mm - $22

32mm - $34.95

Sparco - 50mm - $40ish

SRR - 30mm and 50mm - $25ish

OMP - 60mm - $90

OMP - 24-24-44-54 adjustable - $150

The 60mm by OMP is the longest I've found. One thing I've considered, is to purchase two of the SRR pieces and bolt them together in series. This seems like it would be possible (though not ideal). The pieces that use long through-bolts couldn't be used this way.

----------

BTW, if anyone is interested in purchasing the MOD07 wheel, let me know. I paid $186 for it from LTB. It's been used at approx 8 track events. There is very minimal wear (compaction of the suede) on the grip area, and no dirt.
I think $140 seems fair.

are you including the length of the hub as well?

also, thought about using an aftermarket collapsable steering column? not sure who makes em and where to get em, but ive seen em. not sure if they are legal tho for club racing.

Ideally, I would just put in a custom column, but I'd like to keep the car HC legal so I don't think that would work.

Regarding the hub - I'm not really trying to calculate total length. I just know that I need to get the dish back (2.5") minimum - plus a little bit extra if I can. I know this is a lot of extension, but my seat is very far back in the car and I like the wheel close - nascar-style

Jeff,
I thought I would have the same problem, so I purchased a very nice 95mm Deep-Dish OMP "Corsica" wheel with wonderful suede grip. I also purchased a Smart Products Quick-Release, which appears to be comparable to the length of yours. and a deep length spacer, which I ended up not using. I love the wheel. I purchased it from Driving Impressions at VIR almost 3 years ago for about $180. They still have them for $219. It's a great wheel. Check out the OMP Corsica here:

Yea, I saw the corsica at VIR shortly after purchasing the Momo wheel. I think the grip was slightly larger than the Momo. The OMP wheel has stiching while the Momo doesn't - which I suppose is a personal preferrence issue.

I never really noticed the grip-size issue until I bought a car that had an old Mugen wheel in it (made by Momo). The grip is much larger and I've come to like it better. I have large hands though.

-----------------

The prices came from random places off the internet. I haven't price-shopped each piece. If you want to know where a particular price came from, contact me directly and I'll send you a link.

Wil at Exospeed carries SRR's product line.
IM him...his U/N is exospeedAMcrx

Although this is not easily attainable, i thought i'd share it. It's made in Japan and sold by Nightpager. Length is 70mm. The picture tells a bit more about its main feature.

you could get 2 of the srr ones and put one on either side of the quick release...
one btwn. hub adapter and spline part of quick release and another one btwn. latching part of quick release and steering wheel. this is what i was going to do.

Another alternative; if you are using a quick release hub with a "hex bar" stud, have a machine shop cut a custom length hex bar to your liking. Did this on a SM a while back and it cost only $35.

Remember, while adding more and more spacers for longer extension, the wheel will also get higher and higher from the floor. I had to compromise with a less than optimum length, to keep the wheel from being above my neck.
