Default Another problem, hopefully last one...

last year i did the vtec swap in my 94 si lude. i got the car running and had to ship it off because i was moving. long story short, its a year later and i still do not have vtec. i have checked the wiring, re-checked, and checked so many times i have lost count. i have replaced o2 sensors, cleaned the screen, replaced ecu; about anything you can think of i have done. still no vtec for me (and yes i have enough oil in the car) i was getting ready to replace the vtec valve assembly, thats going to run approx 200$. my question is what is the likely hood of the vtec valve assembly going/being bad?
thanks

ok, so what exactly is going on? What is your rev limit? The oil thing is a myth, it really doesnt have that much to do with it not working. In your case, nothing to do with it. Are you sure that the ecu is pinned correctly for the vtec? Pins A4 and D6? Did you run the vtec wires extra or were you already hooked up for vtec? Give me some details and i will see if i can be some help.

funny you should ask... rev limit used to be 6750, but now is 7500 after I installed my VFAC.
I have a code 1 (O2) and my car runs rough as of recent(it is running too righ). I have tried to diagnose this myslef using a dealership book and only got to confirm that it is a ligit code,(went off by driving WOT for 5 sec, and decelerating for 5 secconds at closed throttle starting at 1600rpm in fourth). I haven't been able to adjust my FPR recently since injectors install and have recently gone through all vaccuum diagrams and the only possible thing that could be wrong is if, for some reason my Intake air control bypass valve soleniod is not the right soleniod(looks like it, but instead of it having a blue and black color, it has a blue and brown color.

my fuel pressure right now is a steady 42 psi and tends to lean out when I accelerate to 39ish.
all wiring is good to my knoledge, except for this wire, which I think goes to the O2 sensor. The wire itself had a wire in the middle, insulation, and then another wire covered with more insulation. The wire is grey going to white, sorry for the blurry pic ...

The next pic is of my oil pan. It has been damaged since I got the motor and wanted to know if this could be part of the culprate.

My spark plugs are about 9-12 months old and I should probably get some new ones judging by the brown on the porcelin...

Alright... there you have it. Let me know if you can figure out my problem... also someone please let me know how to resize pics... sorry

Don't know about the VTEC, but take your pics into Photoshop and go to 'file'-"save for web" and size them down to about 30-40%....

Just throwing an idea out, but Maybe your vtec solenoid is broke?? My vtec didn't kick in but that was because I didn't hook the vtm signal up correctly...

dude i bet this is your problem rigth here, the oil pick ups of our h22 is very close to the bottom of the oil pan, I know a member who did a h22 swap, and when they shipped his h22 the oil pan was dented and he had a problem where he had no vtec, and after he pounded his oil pna out it fixed the problem.

everything is probably wired correctly but due to the fact that the oil pick up is blocked you can't get the appropriate oil press for vtec to engauge

awsome... I will put my new pan on as soon as I get it. I have heard of one other person that said his oil pan was the reason for not getting vtec. I can't wait to see if it fixes the problem. As far as replacing the vtec soleniod, I still have vtec when my car is partly warm, and then after awhile it just doesn't engage, so I don't think that it is the problem.

Thanks alot guys, if this fixes the problem I will be as happy as a lepracon. Any other ideas if this doesn't work?

Damn those pics are huge!! Try beating out the dent before you go and purchase a new one to make sure that that is the problem. I dont know about you, but I dont have a lot of money sitting around to go and buy a new oil pan just as guess work on a problem. Bang it out, put it back on, then see what happens. If it works then and you wish to replace the pan, then do so...other wise, save your money...you can use it on something else down the road!

I found a new pan that only costs 50, and I need a new one. The way I see it I would have done it either way, it was just a matter of time. Not a bad idea to just pound it out, but I want to make sure I have the perfect amount of pressure. Your completly right as far as not having money, as I am a poor *** college student
