OK i just recived a new ECU from the person i bought it from. I had asked for a JDM P13 ECU for a 1995 H22A honda prelude V-tec engine (i have a 1992 prelude with engn swap) and what i recived was a honda civic with a skunk 2 chip ecu. Well the car runs fine except when Vtec is supose to engage. When it hits Vtec mode theres no power gain, push, nuthing. The vtec sound is there but its like the car is just being pushed past redline, almost as if the car is loseing speed in vtec mode.

Heres the big question do i Need a JDM P13 for my engine type, or is this ECU he gave me faulty. I would love all info about this so if you have any thoughts please pour em out. This is driving me nutz

the fuel maps are made for injectors that are much much smaller then yours.

get a prelude ECU

 

ahh so that can be the reason for the lag when vtec has been engaged. I also noticed the car idles alot lower than it used too with the civic one.

Get a p13 prelude ecu. preferably a usdm. You can also use a p72 obd1 equipped with a piggy back from HONDATA.........
