rust proof for winter? anyone did?
Rustproofing is a must in the North East.
1 winter without rustproof = hole in muffler, fender rot, hole in gas tank, and other nice things falling from under the car in the spring,

I went to a Rust Check center last year (oil spray). If you want to preserve your car in Ontario winters, you will need something like this, or wash it every time the salt trucks come out. Even then, regular hosing out the wheel wells and other areas that trap mud and sand is a must. The worst places I've seen on Hondas for rusting are the top of the rear wheel arch (where it meets the plastic bumper), bottom of the front fenders near the jacking points, and the side sills (crap gets lodged between the plastic and metal panels). For the last one, the only way to clean them out is to remove the plastic side sills in the spring and really go at it. The only bad thing I can say about the oil spray rust proofing is that it swells the rubber trim, especially around the front hood lip and between the front bumper and fenders. Looks ugly and so far, I haven't found anything that I can apply to shrink the rubber back into shape. Might have to replace the trim when I can't stand looking at it anymore.
