If you do not loop it, there is a pump gear inside of that VSS that will seize without lubrication and cause nasty things to happen to your VSS inside the tranny. Another option would be to use a stock CRX VSS drive gear.
hmm. mines jus chillin.
never had problems wit it.
ive had/have 2 trannies with this. my last tranny had over 150K miles on it unlooped with jus tubes hangin off in the downward position. 5th gear went out.
new tranny has it. i jus capped em off this time.
id also like to know how to properly care for this.
does it really sieze?
you guys say loop it? how does that help? did you put some kind of fluid in there then?
how do u fill the thing up completely so air doesnt pocket?
good question ive always wondered what it was too.

ANSWER:
Take this ************ out like I did, and use the one out of a 1988-1991 Civic CRX transmission. THEY FIT PERFECTLY, (OH YES THEY DO) but can be a real bitch to get out... You just have to use some elbow grease a big pair of slip joint pliers, and maybe a hammer. The harder of the two is the one from the Dseries because you can only grab the part where the speedo cable goes... TRUST ME. IT WORKS! I EVEN TESTED MY SPEED WITH A CERTIFIED CITY RADAR. Nothing to it man.
