i had a bitch of a time jsut getting the axel nuts off got both off today and finally started to take em out after getting hub removed =/ driver side sllide out or so i thought the boot was riopped so it slid out with the bearings showing =/ and i cant get the other half of it out what the hell should i do? same with the passanger side there both stuck in!, i pull on the passanger side and it came out or so i thought the boot was still intact i just pulled the bearings away from the part that goes into the tranny =***( i need help!!!!!!!!!!!

 

for the passenger side, just put a large screwdriver(for leverage) between the tranny case and the axle and tap the handle with you hand, and it will pop out of the tranny. as for the drive side get a peice of wood and a rubber mallet and place it on the axle where it meets the intermediate shaft and tap the wood with the mallet it should pop off the inter mediate shaft, but before you do make sure both axles are out of the hubs. and never ever "pull" an axle, the will seperate, and that no fun to put back together.

 

the part stuck is in the tranny or hub??? If its in the tranny they dont just pop out. U need to use a prybar to pry it out of the tranny. If they are stuck in the hub then you need to grab a rubber hammer and hit it out. Also, why are u removing your axels?

For the passenger side, just stick a big screwdriver or small prybar in the little space between the axle and transmission housing and pry until that sucker comes out.

How did you end up getting that axle nut off?

 

i bought a 32 mm and 6 inch extension at sears casue if i broke em i would go replace for free.. and put my ratchet on the hub with a 5 foot long steel pipe =D after jumping on her a few times =D and pushing down with hella force i fell to the ground... but the nut broke o happy day! i got the axels completely out now... heres a quote..."it is finished"
