Default New D-Series Track times..

I finally made it out to the track this thursday and i must say I'm very happy with my times.

I ran probally a total of 5 times..and heres my best slip (pics later to come)

1/8 Mile:

Reaction: .467
I1: 2.307
I2: 6.521
E.T: 10.014
MPH: 70.659

Motor:
D16Z6 (sohc-vtec)

Mods:
Dc sports 4-1 Header
Dc sports Catback exhaust
Ebay cold air intake

Vehicle:
1992 Honda Civic hatch (milano red) / (stock clutch)

Tires:
Kumho ecsta 712's with 20lbs of pressure

I also ran with full interior..all i took out was the spare tire and jack assembly

What i dont understand is that i had a 2.3 '60 ft and on two of my other runs i was pulling 2.2 '60 footers and my best time was only 10.1??

Next thursday I'm hoping for a high 9

I'm very happy with my d-series motor

The 2.2's mean you know how to launch, and from reading on H-T with a D series thats a damn good launch, but then you run 10s because no top end. Atleast thats my thoughts on it.

Rule of thumb is multiply 1/8 mile by 1.55 to get 1/4 mile...in his case would be a 15.5

Sometimes a really grippy launch will hurt the run. I could cut 2.0's all day in my old car, but my ET's and Trap speeds were faster with 2.1's.

A little bit of tire slip will hurt the short time, but put you higher in the power band sooner for the rest of first gear. At least thats my theory.

So what you guys are saying is my wheels were spinning a little much?
What would i need to be hitting high '9s?

In around two weeks I'll be getting an act hdss clutch because my stock one doesnt really grab well anymore.

I was launching at around 4300 rpms any suggestions to get a better E.T?

Another funny thing is..

There were two gsr's that couldnt even break high 9's.

There also was an si with i/h/e that couldnt break 10.7

But then again they all had some ricey *** bodykits and subs and alchezzas.

So i was happy with my times
