just did a swap and i put the right axles in the car no problem but know when i try to drive it once i get to 30 my car starts to vibrate the **** outta my *** its really bad and gets worse it seems like when i turn to the right not the left i have no idea what i could be i used integra axles like everyone else did i put the car on a lift and spun the tires and it looked fine to me other wise i havent had much time to mess with it so any suggestions would be nice thanks .

Im having the same prob, All I can say is make sure your wheels are flush w/ rotor and torqued correctly. check ur lower ball joints where you broke the axels lose and maybe its alighnment time.

i was having the same issue....make sure that those 32mm axle bolts are on tight and make sure the 2 phillips screws that go in the rotor are actually screwed in tight.....

 

the axle nuts are on tight and i dont have the two screws that hold the rotor on i havent had them for like 2 years now it makes no difference but thanks for your help

Those two screws, my friend, are indeed needed. That's what keeps the rotor straight. Plus your break pads may wear unevenly, you may even get slight loss of break pressure. ie. brake pedal may have to be pressed further in... I thought i was going to have to change my axle until if found that it was a combo of that and having to pull my axle out of the tranny a mm or two. Belive me the little things count for alot

 

well i havent had those screws in for like i said like 2 years and have had no problems on my pads or anything everything was fine until i did the swap so i dont belive that is the problem but thanks for your input

 

what 1/2 shaft are you using?. and is it bolted up tight with the correct bolts?. how is the geometry of the drive shafts?. it is importent that they are at close to the correct geometry. what mounts did you use?

 

iam useing the half shaft that came with the b16a and useing 90-93 integra axles and i bought the mounts from lightning auto as far as i know everything is tight

tryed to look at it today again but the beater iam driveing had a few problems so didnt get into it ill just have to try again later

 

I had a similar problem with a swap in a '89 dx, it was too low and putting the axles in a bind. That might explain why it turns freely while on the lift and has problems when its on the ground. you may end up having to swap in some different springs to even it out. If that doesnt work, you might have a shattered bearing in the inner end of the axle. I had 3 of them break, 3 separate times on my Type R. it would drive fine at low speeds but had a horrible shimmy above say 20 or 30. I believe it was due to the car being too low. take the transmission end end of the axle and try to move it around. it should be solid. if its loose, you can either pillage parts off other axles and fix it or just get a new axle. try using a 90-93 integra 1/2 shaft. I ran into this problem with one of the B16 swaps I did.

 

I had a similar problem. Pulled my axles and swapped em out with a friend of mines and no more problems. So I took it all apart again and compared his axles where for an 90-93 teg w/ ABS. Took mine back and changed em out and no problems since. Hopefully this will help you out.

tires were fine before i did the swap so iam sure its didnt get outta balance sitting there plus as bad as it vibrates i woulda had to of hit a curb and warpped that bitch

 

yeah from what i understand u have to use matching axels and halfshaft, as in from same application. just my understanding, as i havent put my swap in yet.

 

true i heard i could use the half shaft that came with the swap but maybe not ill just have to try it

Those "little screws" are there for the assembly line, so the rotors don't fall off the car before they put the brake calipers on.
