Another Valve Adjustment Problem!!!(Question)
I adjusted the valves but now the engine seems to be alittle louder and so does the ticking. How is it suppose to sound after the adjustment? Alot quieter or just minimal noticablity? If its not suppose to be loud what do you think I could have done wrong? NOTE:: This is my first time doing the VAlve Adjustment.. I'm using the helms and the C-speed website http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/v...lveadjust.html as a guide. Any help will be appreicated...
Ps. I want to finish it tonight because I want to go to the cruise tomorrow in southern California.. PlEASE HelP!!! THANKS

I was under the impression it was supposed to sound quieter...are u sure u did everything according to spec? not doubting u or anything but:
intake valves: 0.006 - 0.007 in (0.15-0.19 mm)
exhaust: 0.007 - 0.008 in (0.17-0.21mm)
if u did it within specs and used the feeler guages correctly and tightened the screws and nuts corretly... i remember one of the trickier things was making sure the locknut was tight and didnt move while we were adjusting the screw...so maybe you might have loosened the locknut inadvertently and that might be the problem...-shrug-

Did you do it with the engine absolutely cold? The Type R engine isn't quiet, per se...it does make some noise. You might be paying too much attention to it
If you're worried, get in there again and check everything. Did you torque the locking nuts to spec?

Word of caution... don't over tighten the lock nuts! You can strip the thread pretty easily... either that, or I must be super human.
Yea.......!! i did it....... the engine sounds normal again.. nice and relaxed at idle... THanks For all the Help gUYS.. I love this board......
