There's a lot more to putting those pistons in then just the install work.

You'll want an adjustable FPR, maybe 310 injectors, bigger fuel pump, etc. Also, if you put the pistons in before the cams your car will not be getting enough air in the cylinders to feed that kind of compression.

My suggestion is to install the cam first, and then the pistons. When you put the pistons in also put in the Toda 1mm headgasket, or you'll be running 12.5:1 compression, and you'll have to be very careful how you tune with that kind of compression.

I *hear* that CTR pistons aren't a very good choice for the GSR, because of the design of the domes/deck height problems. I wish I could remember the exact reason Anyone?
edit: Also they are heavy.

I think there is a clearance problem with that setup. like bending valves I'd do type R or B16a

b18c1 head volume 41.6

b18c5 head volume 42.7

pistons#/ center of wrist pin to top of piston/ dome hight/ grams/ size

B16A PR3 1.180" 0.098" 299 3.188" (81.0 mm)

B16B PCTX 1.210" 0.253" 327 3.188" (81.0 mm)

B17A P61

B18B PR4 1.180" -0.055" 280 3.188" (81.0 mm)

B18C P72 1.183" 0.000" 305 3.188" (81.0 mm)

B18C5 P73 1.190" 0.070" 310 3.188" (81.0 mm)

B20B 1.165" -0.035" 312 3.307" (84.0 mm)

will it be a good idea to put in the pistons now and later on put the cams, valve springs and retainers later. or should i just wait and do it all at the same time
