for anyone who believes all dealership service departments suck. there is at least one that is awesome, brookfield acura in brookfield WI.
they fixed my tranny, for something i did, last fall under warranty.
a few weeks ago i noticed axel grease all around the driver side front axel. took it to the local dealership to get it covered under warranty. they just called and said they would not cover because it looks cut rather than ripped and acura would not honor that, whatever.
put in a call to brookfield and was told. just have them fix it and send us the bill.
brookfield acura and john vassos RAWK.

Yeah they are great people. Dave (mltdown) works there. I have seen the service manager at a few CGI events at Gingerman. Seems to be a very nice knowledgeable guy
I believe he drives an NSX and an MDX if I'm not mistaken
Kicker, its not that far, probably woth the drive imo, as many of the dealers around here seem to be changing a bit

anyone in the chicago area who needs dealer work should go to them. it's worth the drive.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Just dont go unless you really need it - as Honda keeps tabs on warranty work done at each dealership, so if they get suspicious or unhappy with the influx of warranty work, they wont be able to help anyone much at all.

Yes, they are good people! The best part is that a majority of the technicians have been there for years so they know the vehicles and do an excellent job. Although I do my own service now I would not have a problem with any of those guys working on my car.

Yes, great people. Although we have a couple of dealers here in the Chicago area (out of the nine in the area) that are also very competent. They may or may not be liberal about taking care of stuff under warranty, but at least they know what they're doing and they don't give you any bull. And they're not a hundred miles away. OTOH Acura of Brookfield's hourly rates are ~$15 less than the Chicago area dealers, so if you have a lot of work to be done, it may be worth the long drive.
Acura of Brookfield

Incidentally, the service director (John) does not drive an NSX or an MDX himself, unless he's moving someone else's car to or from the dealership as a favor. But he knows the cars inside and out.

Yeah, I was up in Brookfield a couple of years ago. They had one of the new CL-S 6 sp's on the lot. The salesman and I went on a little drive, and when we got to the back country road, he said, "ok, wind it up." I obliged (wound out 5th). They get a thumbs up from me for letting me actually test the car.
