Intake manifold swap help
I want to put a Y8 intake manifold on my MANUAL d16y7 4 door. I thought I knew what I needed, did a search, found a bunch of different answers and now I'm just confused. So, here goes. Which manifold will I need for my car? One from an auto or manual EX civic? And, If I buy it as a combo with a throttle body still on it, does it matter which one I use? TIA.
you will need a manual manifold. if it has the TB still on it you will have to use the y8 iacv. but the plug for the y7 iacv is 3 wires while the y8 one is 2 so you will have to convert it. other than that, it should be pretty much straight forward.
edit: the iacv on the y8 is on the back of the manifold and on the y7 its on the TB. you could just use the y7 tb if you wanted. im not toaly sure if there is a difference in diameter of those tb's

No difference, same sized throttle bodies

I was actually playing around with the idea of swapping throttle bodies. I found that the D15 throttle body on my 95 dx is 58mm and a B18 obd1 throttle body is about 60mm and as long as I kept the B18 gasket the obd 1 LS throttlebody will work on my 58mm intake. the IAC ports are slightly different however works flawlessly and bolts right up! I did notice a little increase however if you want it to work properly you need to port match your D series intake to 60mm
