Suprised with weight reduction
I was bored last night and wondering how much my boxed weighed. I took it out it weighed 60 pounds Wow that was a big weight loss. I got excited and looked at what else I could quickly get rid of to loose some weight and the first thing I saw was the back seats so I took those bitches out. Wow another 30 pounds for the back seat. Thats 90 pounds of weight loss in 10 min. I also took the carpet of the back of the seats and layed it down so It does not look like a hatch of metal, it still looks descent with the carpet covering he metal. So I got to thinking how the weight loss would affect my car. Wow, I was always skeptical about loosing weight, thinking that it would not make that much of a difference but it really feels much faster just loosing the 90 pounds just thought I would share my experience.
If you are thinking about weight reductin do it for sure I am converted.

I did it the most accurate way. My bro said the same thing about his backseats yo mine was only 10 pounds. Well He can back me up on this it was 30 pounds. I stood on the scale and weighed myself. Then loaded up my arms with the back seats and weighed myself again it was exaclty 30 pounds heavier then before. Then I just put the seats on the scale and again 30 pounds. So beleive what you want but it was 30 pounds for me. I dont know if the model makes a diff his was a vx and he said it was only 10 for him. I have a dx model and it was 30 pounds for the backseat, 10 for the butt part of the seat, and 10 for each of the back parts.

10 lbs for the seat bottom, and 10 lbs for each back piece (if its split) sounds about right.
you should see the pile of crap that used to reside in my car

I just took three 10s out of my 91 hatch, I swear it was 75-80 lbs. That box will never see the back of any of my vehicles, except maybe my bronco.
to loosing weight, we should market this. "I lost 100lbs in 20 minutes! and you can too*"
*some small print making the person look stupid for doing it.

The cool thing about taking out the back seats is your friends can't bum rides from you "sorry dude no back seats". That always kicks ***. The downside is my car got really loud with out the seats and all the carpet in the trunk missing in my coupe.
i was trying to get the *** pads out of my 1996 ex coupe and i couldnt find any thing to unscrew, unsap or anything of the sort. How in the world do i get them out?
Your box only weighs 60?
My box with 1 12 weighs in at a whopping 80 pounds. Beat that.
But yea my back seats came out to about 30 pounds total too. I did the same thing. Stood on the scale with it and subtracted my weight.
Oh i just weighed my rsx leather seats with airbags still intacted. They weigh 5 pounds more then gsr leather seats. Probably less with the airbags taken out.

*** pads being the rear seat cushion correct? They are just snapped in, pull up with some force and they will pop off.

Oooooh, please don't do that. There are three points where the bench seat cushion attaches to your rear seating/floor area... they are all made of bent metal rods. One is a loop that bolts to the body where the center seat belt buckles are. This one is easiest to get to once you've removed the seat back.
The other two attachment points are hooks on the front bottom edge of the seat cushion. Once you've removed the rear bolt, just lift up on the back of the seat and pull it towards you like 45 degrees then the hooks on the front edge of the seat will pop out of the floor holes that they're hooked into

yeah, my hatch is wicked loud now. nothing behind the doors, and no headliner. when im done, it will only have a gutted dash, and a drivers seat. and to anyone who says, "well, why would you do that..." its all personal preferance.
I put my cx on a diet and it made a huge difference. all tar is gone, back seats etc. I love the fact my hatch weighs about 1000lbs less than my accord. My car has more weight to lose too! (so do I)
my floorboard tar came up so easy, it was weird. it came up in huge chunks. I had both floorboards done in about 20 minutes.
