Do I need to change pistons and rods?
If i want more power, do i need to change piston and rod?? What's the function of aftermarket piston and rod???? Thanks to discuss!!!!!!! Need your help!!
I believe the aftermarket pistons are to upgrade/downgrade compression (depending on where you're going with your system as a whole) and they should be stronger than stock.
Aftermarket pistons can also help to make more power since most are forged which disepate heat in turn creates more power. Rods can make more power in they are a lot stronger than stock. What kinda hp goals where you looking to go for. Stock ones can hold pretty well around 300.

All of the above can be things that aftermarket rods and pistons can change, in addition a larger displacement can be found from using an oversized piston, or a different bore and stroke combination ususally called stroked if using a stroker kit.
If the piston can make more compression, it is mean more chance to damage our engine?? Andthen, why the piston and rod more harder, is equal more power??? Thanks a lot!!
you first have to state the type of setup you're going to have.. i think stock everything is better for stock or nearly stock hp... explain your whp goals and what type of setup (turbo,n/a)?

My engine got the Piston, Rod, Crankshaft, Sleeve treatment and many more...and I'm very happy with the results time after time...I have no worries regarding my engine weather it's for track or street. I know it holds strong. Stronger internals = running harder without too much worries. Stronger internals does not nessesarely mean more HP. A good example of this would be stronger OEM spec parts to replace the old ones...does it mean that the car will perform better? Most cases it will give you the same results but in general because they are stronger replacement parts, they can take more of a beating then the OEM parts and as FOrSfEd mentioned, some piston disepate heat witch is good for the engine. But back to the Piston and Rod issue. You may change the Piston for a greater compression ratio for a little HP, that's if you're going the N/A route. If you plan on turbo, now that's a different story. All in all, stronger parts makes for a tough motor!!!
Please let me know if some of you disagree...I'm giving example of my own experience. I had my motor rebuilt for track use but now it's my daily driven car to work and back. Arias pistons, Crower rods, Darton sleeves, port and polish head stage 3. Ported intake manifold...the list goes on...
It was initialy rebuilt for track use in semi stock category but now is street driven.
