Default Rhys Millen's Drift GTO

Anybody have decent pics of it? I can't find anything other than grainy, distant ones.

The more I read about the GTO, the more I like it. I read some tests by Motor Trend, Car and Driver etc., and it's not your typical domestic. Apparently its handling capabilites are great, and it's very responsive.

Not looking for an import vs. domestic war, just looking for some pics

Not-so-great shot:

I think it's cool to see a little diversity, and maybe some people will even get over the idea that all American cars are incapable of being "m4d tyte", haha.

The D1 pictures posted by the members here contain pictures of the GTO.

Is it a big deal?

I searched a bit, but didn't look through all the pics of drift events ever posted. Also, I thought maybe some other people would be interested to see/hear about it.

I swear, if some people had their way, this board would be completely inactive. It would just be a searchable encyclopedia rather than a discussion forum.

Nope, a 6-speed manual is a $700 option, and avoids the $1,000 gas guzzler tax.

The fact that you gave me the "frustrated" face for asking if anybody had some pics of something that, God forbid, had been posted before, buried in a thread that didn't come up in any search using the letters "GTO".

I like it...still puchrod V8 though. But, hey diversity brings about many things....like competition...and competition brings about more vehicles to choose and lower prices.

That's how I see it, too. And it seems like good competiton for other 30k RWD Japanese cars like the 350Z and RX8. Definitely as close as US automakers have come yet. I give them credit for making a well built, rattle-free, fast car with a good suspension and a design so restrained that they didn't even put dual outlets on the true-dual exhaust. Oh, and the interior is on par with foreign competition, too.

Something weird though, Motor Trend made their own rendition of a Judge version they claim will be coming out in a year or so, and its front bumper looked a lot like that drift GTO's.

That car is d0pe. Best current domestic there is, I'd say.

I'm wondering where the parts that aren't custom are coming from. As in, are GReddy really making parts for the GTO? Weird.

You really like that over the Vipers? Over the Mustang Cobra-R?

Well, to an extent. I say it's the best because it competes better with the other cars in its price range than something like an $80,000 Viper does. I guess the Vette is better than the GTO by those standards though, because it can compete with cars costing three times as much, but I'm just not a huge Corvette fan.

I feel that but I just took it as you meaning domestic PERIOD. To an extent, I can understand. Definately for price range a car like that can't be beat.

that looks hot! i hate the stock GTO, it looks like a ***** car that shouldnt be called the GTO cuz when u think of GTO u think a bad *** muscle car, not an everyday ugly *** pontiac

...kinda weird to see it drifing , just shows how far this drifting thing has evolved

30k for a 14 second car dosent sound like a good deal to me They look pretty nice except for that nasty pontiac bumper.

It's just as fast as or faster than the 350Z and will blow the RX8 out of the water, and not just in a straight line.

Actually, this month's Motor Trend has a comparison test between the GTO and an $80k Mercedes CLK55 AMG. Pretty strange.

People should start buying GTOs and doing AUDM front end conversions.
