Default headlight bulb problem

Hey, I just did the 9006>9005 conversion tonight using the silverstarts. when I was adjusting the headlights, the drivers side bulb went out. I took the bulb out and the filament was still connected and the bulb looks totally fine. it's not the connector bec/ other bulbs work fine in it. I was thinking that maybe the socket of the bulb might be dirty from filing the ***** down but I tried cleaning it out and it still doesn't work. Is there any other way to clean the socket? Does anyone know what might be wrong w/ this bulb? I'm kinda pissed off cuz it's a $20 bulb that worked for like 5 minutes. So I replaced it with one of the stock 9005s right now. But I want to get this silverstar working.

thanx in advance.

umm im pretty sure u know but, u didnt touch the bulb directly with your hands right? oil/dirt/ etc etc can cause the bulb to blow out... and i dont think theres anyway to fix a bulb, unless it was a loose connection...

I'm 100% positive I didn't touch the bulb. Cuz the whole time I was modifying it, I can a styrofoam cover over it, so I wouldn't touch it.
