Default where to buy an engine swap.

Ok guys, time has come for me to make my decision. Im looking at getting a JDM SiR-G. Now where should I buy from. Im looking at these places(if you have other places let me know, or other places iwth good deals does nto have to be a jdm gsr)

https://passwordjdm.com/index....204f2
-$3000 for complete swap or $3300 with LSD, which I am really thinking about, is it worth it? Plus shipping. Id imagine shipping is no more then $200

http://www.totaljdm.com/
-$3150 for complete swap, LSD +$400 and shipping is $150

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33615
-$3300 shipped, complete swap. +$300 for LSD.

The last one, ebay guy has good rating on his sales. Aside from price, passwordJDM seems to be the best, has anyone heard anything bad about any of these, and how is the quality. I want to make sure I get a Grade A motor, not one that has been beat, accidents, etc.

yea but I can't get a jdm gsr swap that was previously automatic, they never made them in auto correct. And I don't really want to go with a b16 that was previously auto

Well, I don't directly have any proof but a buddy of mine has a story which I don't even know if I am legally allowed to discuss over a public forum due to possible investigations. It is almost obvious though, you can go on right now and see people from urban towns where car theft is the highest in the nation and selling motors. Tonight I saw a guy selling 3 GSR swaps for 1800 each. Now, don't get me wrong, these can be legitimate but how many people do you know that have that many motors laying around and selling them that cheap. Especially from cities where theft is high and where most shells are dumped after being stripped.

Take a look around http://www.urbanracer.com/smcl...t.asp

oh definately not urbanracer. **** thieves. Id say the majority is stolen. Look at the pricing on the stuff its just unreasonably cheap, from shady areas, sellers are all shady when you talk to them, and if you want more proof, check out one of those integra GSR full swaps for $1500 and let me know what the vin says when you carfax it or if there even is a VIN.

yea Corona, I saw that post today with the 3 engines for $1800, and who actually has 3 on their hands. Most normal people want to get the most for their money, unless 1. there rich or 2. they need money fast. And it does happen sometimes you may find a good deal, but lets not support bad habbits guys.

have you ever had experience with them Kendall? Price seems good for $2900, but I still need to get the axles and shift linkage.

It seems like all these places end up being the same price, now it just ends up being who has the best reputation.

Yes, I've bought from them before, and they included the axles, shift linkage, mounts, etc. with the price of the swap. Check around in some of the other forums, you'll be hard pressed to find a company with a better reputation.

shipping for $150 is cheap considering its several hundred pounds. it varies on the distance as well. if the price is amazingly low, its probalybly too good to be true.

im still researching. I have about 6 companies looking to buy from, I called them all. Ill summarize my experience when Im done for future users interested in getting a swap.

I don't have enough for the ITR swap, unless I sell my other car right now...which is rather tempting.

Great service! Great prices! There are a lot of scammers on E-bay, be careful.
