The RS*R has rotted out due to excessive salt winters. Can anyone tell me what aftermarket exhaust is nice and quiet like the rsr?? I heard about comptech and apexi..but comptech is ridiculous at 600 dollars. I've heard the apexi is a bit loud as well, is this true? Thanks for the help fellas....

 

Most people like the fujitsubo..though it's very pricey. About $700.

My 5zigen Fireball is annoyingly loud at highway speeds..

 

apex'i ws is slightly louder than the rs*r but quieter than comptech. the ws is very quiet at first but gets louder over time. still pretty quiet imo though. i didnt have any problems with droning on the freeway. hth

 

Well I just got ticketed in Fairfax, VA this past Monday night for my Thermal R&D, $55 fine after court costs. So I'm buying an RS*R next weekend for two reasons- very quiet and near stock appearance.

 

Tilt is correct, the RSR will be slightly quieter than the Apexi WS. I had the World Sport, however I had a large restriction in the system (turbo, y0!) so it was VERY quiet. Under regular driving conditions, it was pretty much stock sounding.

It's hard to say how it sounds during WOT because as soon as I hit it, the wastegate would open and that would drown out everything. But I assume the exhaust portion isn't that loud.

It did get slightly louder over time.....when it idled. Driving seemed the same.

 

i notice my world sport makes the most noise at idle, even if you catalytic convertor happens to lose its inerds is still isnt loud.actually i wish it was just a little louder.

I guess my having the turbo must have been a really big restriction in the system because I also had a test pipe. The whole thing was very very quiet.

 

GReddy SP and SP2 are GREAT choices for sound! The GReddy exhaust systems are known for their low DB levels and tone!!!

 

A'PEXi World Sport 2 is a sweet exhaust. Comptech is a great piece too. It's a toughy, good luck with your choice, either way you will be happy with either one.

 

i love my WS...its nto too loud...if anything the intake is louder...

get a twin loop...those are quiet and flow better than chambered mufflers...

get a stock ITR exhaust

I guess if you've owned the tanabe racing medallion for any period of time.....hearing loss would occur and I believe it would sound "quiet"

 

Racing Medallion = very loud.

Apex'i WS/RS, Comptech, RS*R, DC Sports...all pretty quiet. The next step up would be a Greddy Evo in terms of loudness.

 

i can vouch for dc sports... i had it for 3 years and it was a nice exhuast

i can hear my intake over my exhaust with the windows closed, but with the windows open, the exhaust sounds amazing.

 

i've got the spoon n1 axleback, its pretty quiet. and not bad of a price but its only an axleback

 

Get apex N1 and put the silencer...it's JDM and it sounds sick...good luck mann...peace

 

I like my comptech, quiet and looks close to stock (painted it black). It seems a good bit quieter than my Greddy sp on my civic.

i have a apex ws -- along with my dc header, carsound cat. And believe my when vtec engages its anything buy quiet

but at idle is just a tad louder than stock
