Coolant hose should work fine.
For less than 10psi even those home depot sewer pipe connectors will probably be ok. At least for a while. Be sure to buy 1/2" smaller than you need. IIRC the ones that are called 1 1/2" fit 2" thin wall pipe well.

i bought the rubber home depot ones and they keep popping off @ 9psi on 294hp gsr... i just bought a 3ft long reinforced silicone tube for 40shipped.... PLENTY of couplings
if you have problems with the couplers popping off....a little trick is to spray some hairspray on the coupler and pipe. But not too much, or u will have to cut them off when you wanna take it apart cuz trust me......they will stick like a ****.
Thats how I put grips on my bikes. They slide right on, and after the stuff dries the grips aint going to shift at all. Spray paint works just as well as hair spray.
40$ for a large diameter length of silicone hose is really cheap. Care to share your source?

Word. I bought a 2ft length of this for $25/foot and got 8 couplings out of it [3 inches long each]. This is the most inexpensive way to get good silicone couplings...I got mine from roadraceengineering.com

This stuff is great! $15 a foot. I've got my D16z6 @ 10psi and it holds REAL well. Using standard clamps as well. They stick real tight to the charge pipes.

The Home Depot rubber couplers are only rated to 3-4psi. It states it right on the paper ring. You can't go wrong with ATP's silicone couplers, though! I bought two 2.75"-to-... reducers for my intercooler end tanks.
