Do I really need this?
I have an S prelude that I swapped an H22a into it. The vaccuum differeances between the two motors are the highlighted sections.

I was searching around in my engine and to my amazment, I couldn't find anything labeled 8(there is a cap on the intake manifold). I did have 12 and 13, because I had to purchase them from the dealership. What I am asking is if I really need "8"(maybe it is something that goes on the stock intake?), I am having some small driveability problems, such as a code 1 (O2), and I don't always get Vtec, only when I start my car from a cold and start to warm it up.
What do you guys think about this? Thanks for your help!

you don't need 8, you need the IAB stuff if you want your intake butterflies to work for low rpm torque...I don't know about the starting air valve...was it even on JDM motors?

I think that you are right about the starting air valve, as I could not find it at all(nor do I think that it is really needed either). So I assume I can just cap of 8? thanks for the help satan!

Everyone caps off 8 when they install an aftermarket intake.

LOL, thanks I wish it always ran that good. Vtec on my motor starts working once I grab my 2nd bar of heat, but usually I wait until I am fully warmed up to beat on it...
Last time I checked your car didn't run too slowly in comparison either...

take it all out, it's not needed. removed the lines all the way back to the Intake mani. Cap off the port at the mani.

yeah sometimes its alright....but lately i've been having this random powerloss, as have many other people, there's actually a thread about it in the hybrid forum.....oh well, we gotta race again this summer and this time ill try not to...umm....u know
