1988 ECU location?
I'm trying to t-shoot an engine check lite that comes on after my 88 lx-i has been running for about 5 minutes. The car runs great even when the lite is on. Even when it's warm, if I turn the ignition off then back on, it'll come back on in 5 more minutes. I thought an engine check lite would be permanently illuminated once a fault was detected by the ECU. Guess not though.
Someone told me I could view lites on the ECU and isolate the source of the fault based on blinking patterns. Is this true?
Any advice would be appreciated. I believe an 88 is pre-OBD, so I can't scan for codes. By the way, where the h is the ECU? Just got the car and am in the process of replacing, fixing, cleaning, etc.
