Default Dynomax super turbo muffler

I just did a search and found a lot of information, but not my answer. I just purchased this muffler to replace my loud *** rice muffler. How will it sound? I have a JDM D15B with Dc Header and CAI. I wanted a really quiet exhaust because I was getting sick of the one someone put on mine before I owned the car. Could someone tell me what I can expect? I piad 63 for it with free shipping. The muffler shop will charge me about 65 to put it on. Please tell me it wont be loud as ****, or that I won't attract cops. If this **** is loud, I'm gonna run my civic off the cliff.

i bought my civic with the full Dynomax super turbo setup, and its not loud until you hit about 2500-3k, then it makes this hideous ricey sound. I put a resonator in it and now it sounds great, low subtle tone, with just the right amount of sound.

RoaringTurtle is running that muffler. Sound real stealthy with a long resonator and a cat. Its not a straight through muffler so its pretty quiet.

so I should expect a ricey sound without a resonator? damn, and I thought the muffler shop would just weld it on and I'd be ready to go.

coulda got the magnaflow oval straight through design...its nice and quiet when it needs to be ....no resonator needed. After I gutted my car its a little louder but it still isn't as bad as some of the exausts I've heard. 55 shipped on ebay.

I really don't care what it is as long as it's quiet and serves it's purpose. The owner beofore me had a OBX Type R Racing exhaust and it sounds so Ricey. does anyone have this one ona 95 DX Coupe? BTW, for any ricers out there, I'm selling the OBX for $15 plus shipping.

I had that muffler..not cat, no resonator and it sounded great....no ricey buzz, but it was loud and deep......like 1/2 the n1 noise....I loved it.....the piping was crush bend though, so I got rid of it for my n1 catback......

its quiet enough for me
imo its a great muffler for the price
I'm pretty sure it will sound raspy with no resonators though
I would just use your aftermarket b-pipe if you have one and cut the muffler off, and put the super turbo one on
thats what I did

so just cut the old rice muffler off and weld this one on? Will I need a resonator for it not to sound ricey?

I read these reviews and most people were saying how it sounded quiet and didn't sound ricey so that's why I bought it. Those bastards.

it is a quiet muffler
its not a straight through design
however it could sound raspy depending on your b-piping
does your aftermarket exhaust have a resonator?
if so then yeah just cut the old muffler off and put this one on

I think that the guy just welded his muffler on the stock exhaust system. Would I still have a resonator?

Why can I only post 5 messages a day?

I have a resonator with the super turbo. straight pipe with 2 inch tubing. It's quiet when it idles and it isn't too loud on the highway. Sounds nice and deep. No farting sound.

very low profile, oem and quiet

Hi just put one on my Jeep. It's almost as quiet as the stock one.

BUT... you got raped. I payed $36 for mine at the local auto shoppe. the welded, heavy guage body, stainless one was $65.

I'm personally a fan of the Magnaflow Oval and 30" resonator setup, but I've yet to hear a well-done Dynomax. It would be cool if some soundbytes were uploaded .

Alright, just checked underneath my car and I found out that I do have a resonator afterall. Do civic come stock with a resonator? After watching the exhaust, I'm not sure now if it really is stock. What would you guys say is the diameter of the pipe all the way to the back? The one I have is about 2'. Would that be stock or is the stock exhaust smaller?

I bought mine at a place called "Franks Auto Supermarket". It's a small chain of stores in western PA. (pittsburgh) But I did see that auto zone had them. they were $39 for the super turbo and $78 for the welded one. I know that's a national chain.

So are you guys saying not putting a resonator with the Dynomax or Magnaflow

makes it still raspy? Cause I have a eBay N1 Style muffler and it's ok. But

highway driving is a bitch. So would the Magnaflow without a resonator on 2.25"

piping = raspy?

PS: Sorry to kind of jack the thread.. just didn't feel like making a same post

about a different muffler, because there similar..

well no magnaflow, but i do have a small clip of my Dynomax Superturbo w/ resonator. It sounds a bit different while driving, and if it didnt have that reso on it, it would be worse Also the throatyness of Dynomax isnt as deep as it sounds here soo .. hope it helps
