Painted my side moldings!!
decided to paint my side moldings the other day came out pretty good.
i went through 5 cans of 5oz milano red and finished it off with about 3 coats of clear coat. heres some pics!

Looks good, but if you didn't use flexible primer and paint don't let those moldings get bumped into, a shopping cart ding will definitly crack the paint

i painted them with the moldings on, i just used a lot of schotch tape and newspaper covering my car

yeah i didnt use flexible primer, im hoping nothings gonna hit my moldings!
oh yeah my kyb agx's and gc's should be coming in sometime next week, but i wont be here to them in, but i'll get pics of th
em asap

that looks pretty good...i was thinking of painting my side moldings and door handles. but i'm afraid that my car might be too faded and the paint won't match or something...
looks good man.. i had my side moldings painted when i had my car painted this winter i think it def looks much better body color than black

actually your primer, paint, and clear coat should all have a flexible additive when painting plastic pieces, espcially trim

Technically it depends on what the paint mfg specs. When I painted my bumpers and trim with Dupont their Tech Manual says to put flex agent in the primer and clear. Its not needed in their bases.

Quick questions...did you have to sand the moldings first? If so, what grit sandpaper did you use? Also, did you use any kind of primer before appyling the paint? And, do you think this will work on the stock Integra side skirts? Im going home for Easter break and i need a weekend project!
