Default Where to get a type-s ball joint ?

The dealer doesn't sell jut the ball joint. they want you to buy the knuckle with the joint. Anyone know where to get just a joint even if it's aftermarket.

Thanks,

Derek

Nope, I've tried getting S ones as well as R ones directly from Japan. They can't be punched out according to about 10 people that I've tried getting them from, dealer included. You have to buy the whole assembly.

don't know about the type-s or the Si but I have replaced one on a 2001 Civic LX (Machpherson strut front like your cars) and the ball joint is a press fit just like the previous gen civic/integras and they can be removed quite easily. The dealer says they're not serviceable. I just went and bought a ball joint for an EK civic. Those ones have snap ring. They are a little taller so when you press (or hammer in) the balljoint it doesn't sit flush but you can get it in far enough to install the snap ring. It worked fine so far. You could also go to a junkyard and get a used knuckle.

I'm running a 40 which worked just fine with the S suspension, but now I need at least a 50, because they are thicker, and cause my front tires to stick out about a half an inch.
