all i'm going to say is "stop in the mf'n box like you were told"... race rubber or not biatches... i want the megaphone at all times... its not that hard to do... other then a couple donkeys out there... it seemed like a great event from the watching/running side. see you guys next time... and if RJ doesnt let me have the megaphone i'm buying my own!

heh. and all I'm gonna say is that stopping in a short box is a lot easier if (a) you are slow or (b) you have no HP, or (c) you shut down before you trip the lights.

that said--once the box was lengthened--no real problems.

you did over shoot by about 2 feet once after the box was bigger... and dont you think you need to worry about driving the full course... including the box before you go begging to have a course change for all the big bad cars? setting up for the box... might mean you HAVE to take a corner a little slower before entry... but i think the b00st got the best of you... btw, the MR2 driver had no issues stopping in the original box

true indeed. rod is a better driver than i, with a car that's lighter by almost 1,000 lbs, and much less hp.

b00st may have gotten the better, but i did run a 58--compared pretty favorably with the other times it seems to me.

I run a lot of events and I knew the original stop box would be well nigh impossible even before i ran it, as did Rod (MR2).

whatevah. I don't recall "begging"--i made my point and ultimately it was agreed with. if you have a problem with that--makes no difference to me.

Lemme see.....

Conditions
Rain
Standing water
HORSEPOWER COURSE

My car
85 RX-7
Purchase price: 3,700 dollars
Total invested: 8,000 dollars
RWD
158hp @7600 rpm
practically bald, year old kuhmos....

Your car
2004 STi
30,000 dollars
AWD
AT LEAST 300 hp
BRAND NEW R compounds (don't know what kind)

You don't think you should've beaten me? IN THE RAIN? ON A HORSEPOWER COURSE? Bah..... Tell you what, make the trip up to another SCCA event at FedEx, Since I've got hoosiers now, AND I'll have a few more ponies under the hood...

BTW: If it had been an SCCA event, all of your runs that you stopped even an INCH out of the box would have been a DQ.

We are not a stickler for rules. There was not a safety concern, so we werent going to press the issue. If anything it was my fault for the flaw in course design. We're open to any feedback that you guys can give to help us run bettAr events

Oh, results are all entered in, will be sorted and posted tomorrow.

RJ - you girls can continue bickering now

the sentence after you said "the box is too small" (not even out of the car yet) was "i've got hoosiers".... its an autox... adjust your driving... thats the name of the game... you should never have said anything about adjusting the course.

RJ stop bending over for people... thats your moms job and if you dont stick to the rules... then you are going to get walked all over.

If the drivers could not negotiate the box without minimal effort then the fault is my own for putting it there. Thats it. Next time the finish will be different, i've already drawn up what I'll do.

I will stick to the rules but I wont be unrealistic in my expectations. Everyone did a great job at the event and was really safe.

1. two runs i stopped out of the box. one was when the box was too small (run no. 1). second was when I was first to run a 60 when most were running mid 60s or 70s. The box was definitely too small at first, and I don't give a flying f*ck whether you can take that bit of criticism or not. What I said was I came across the lights, engaged ABS on R's and DID bring the car to a stop, but couldn't do it in the box.

2. I don't have hoosiers. never have, never will.

3. IF this had been an SCCA event the safety steward would not have allowed grid, the finish, and the start to be laid out the way they were. So let's be realistic.

4. Dan--make all the excuses you like. Like I told you at the event--I don't like trash talk. I don't like excuses, justifications, or "almosts." You didn't see me bragging on my times anywhere till this thread was brought to my attention. All I am saying is two seconds isn't "almost" in AX. And whether I "should" or "shouldn't" have beaten you--the fact is I did, and by a good margin. Maybe the results will be different next time. Or maybe it'll just be your excuses that'll be different. Don't know--don't care. I'd suggest next time you let your driving do the talking and avoid baiting people you have never met with "I'm coming for your times" and then failing to deliver.
