What suspension/brake upgrades would you recommend for my EG (roadcourse)?
I'm thinking about setting up my EG hybrid for the roadcourse + daily driving. I was thinking Mugen lowdown suspension and ITR brakes? Keep in mind I'm on a budget.
There is a 2.2 mi roadcourse being built about 20 minutes from Omaha. It'll be ready this coming spring.

Mugen and on-a-budget are mutually exclusive.
Ground Control coilovers with off-the-shelf Konis.
Stock brake hardware. Carbotech, Hawk, Performance Friction pads. Motul fluid.
No needs to upgrade brake hardware. The stock stuff works fine. The Mugen is a good race setup, but overpriced and overkill for street.
Tires make a big difference. Get some good summer tires if local roads/conditions allow. The driver is the single biggest "mod" you can make, spend your money on track time, schools, etc.

haha. I hear ya. I just think that for $1k the Lowdown kit is a decent deal. I wanted to get other opinions.
What spring rate GC's? What type of Koni's? How much are we talking here?
I have H&R Race springs with Tokico Blues right now (crap).
I didn't realize that the stock brakes hardware would get me by... I thought I would *have* to go with bigger brakes. Remember...I have the CX.

I've tracked my ITR a couple of times + 2 yrs of AutoXing (reigning regional GS champion...haha), so I'm pretty familiar with the importance of tires.
Anymore suggestions? Can I make my hybrid faster than my R on the roadcourse with the setup you're suggesting???
Thanks again.

Ahh, lowdown - I thought you meant the N1 (or whatever the top kit is called). I can't comment on the lowdown, al the racers I know use the N1. The GC kit is ~$300. Not sure what the latest price is on the Konis ($130-$150 each I guess). Springrates - 300-400 front and 400-600 rear depending on how much track time you actually plan.
The brakes will do for now, drive it as-is for a few events and get a feel for what you need/want. But with that swap, you might want to upgrade eventually. The cheapest upgrade will probably be the brakes off a GSR or 99-00 Civic Si. Or if you want a kit, Fastbrakes has a variety available.
This is what I would do, in order (assuming you are doing lapping days, but not competition):
[1-3 are required]
1. brake pads, fluid. check MC, booster, calipers, etc. SS lines.
2. tuneup engine (filter, fluids, the usual). check wheel bearings, tie rods, etc
3. Autopower or similar 4 pt rollbar and harness.
4. 21-23mm rear sway bar. front bar (only if CX is missing it)
5. tires - very good summer (or DOT-R if you already autox on them)
The above will get you started. the suspension you hav is decent, I wouldn't worry about it until you have an event or two under your belt. Then:
6. GC/Koni or whatever (Truechoice, ...)
7. bigger brakes if needed
8. LSD
9. ... (whatever else, this is a long way off).
