Default Exhaust Vibrates against rear bumper

When it's cold my exhaust (skunk2) resonates at certain RPMs and is apparently fitted close enough that the muffler vibrates against my rear bumper making quite an annoying sound. Is there any way I can put something soft between the top of the exhaust nozzle and the bumper in a safe way? I don't want anything to catch on fire from the heat.

I was thinking I might be able to use a piece of chewed gum haha.

If this is a stupid Idea could I just adjust (bend) the hooks that attach the muffler to the underbody?

you can use lower rubber hangers on your rear support.. they have them for sale in your local options mag also if you want.. just stick an object in the little space in your rubber hangers. It works like a charm

I don't think it's the hangers, I'm fairly certain it's the tip of the muffler vibrating against the rear bumper cover.

You can try header wrap or heat wrap.

Yeah I got it, I was just suggesting those things to help lower the canister so there is less space between it and the bumper.

less space or more space?(I'm guessing you meant more space, that's what I need)
