yes...you can set the light to go off at any rpm you wish
the rpm adjustment & light intensity adjustment is on the grey box

The control box it comes with allows you to dial it in to the desired RPM. Works great, I have the older version and it shines bright enough to see in the daytime

how does it know what rpm you're at? do you need to dismantle the dash?

Aaron- it reads it off some frequency, I believe.(someone correct me if I 'm wrong)

no need to dimantle anything, plugs right in and your done.

this shift light is hot!!......u can adjust the brightness of the led...and its very accurate.....i got one from marc yesterday..........very nice item to add in the car....form and function.....it got me flying around town tryin to hit my desired rpm shift point...(which is like 6900.....7100 redline..stockdx)
