Yok. AVS ES100
I have the Yoko ES100's and love em. I highly recommend them, they do get stickier when they are warmed up, they handle great and seem to last a good while. With the Yoko ES100's I would pull 2.1x 60' times consistently. I give them a big

better than azenis at what?
in the rain, yes. tread lasts a little longer, yes. but if we're talking dry handling in more than just a straight line there is no comparison between the azenis and the es100's. the azenis are head, shoulders, abdomen, crotch, legs, and feet above the yokos.
that being said the es100's are a good sub-$100 daily driver tire, though they will get loud after a while.

ES100's are horrible in the corners. Their sidewalls are too soft to be remotely considered along the same lines as the Falken Azenis. For a drag street tire they're great with their incredibly soft sidewall (sidewall loading) and fairly grippy compound. However, for autocrossing or even daily driving they're somewhat scary because they don't hook up that well and bounce even after settling in.

oh yea? i thought it was a good all around tire. i take corners hard and love handling but also love the straight line. hm...i heard good things about the es's till now. i heard they were good for handling as well. is the es100 a LOT better than the azenies in the straightline?
Azenis are stickier but don't allow for ANY sideloading due to their sidewall. Thus the ES100's will always be better if you're going for 0 - XX times.
Here's some images to think about. I jacked the side of the car up just enough to change the tires on the opposite side. Azenis in the first picture, and ES100's on the second picture. That sidewall looks horrid. Before anyone says anything about the air pressure, the Azenis are at 36 psi and the Yokohama's are at 40 psi!
Azenis

Yoko ES100

I have both, and effectively I really really don't like the ES100's. If I had the chance again I'd get something else as these tires really don't know how to settle into a turn and squiggle around a lot yeilding a very very low confidence in them.

Look at how much rollover the ES100's have in contrast to the Azenis. See how much the sidewall puffs out on the ES100's? The Azenis don't exhibit this and thus which makes the Azenis a much better handling tire. ES100's really do suck in terms of confidence and stable cornering ability, take my word on that. Tire Rack's review is on a completely flat test surface, but once the ES100's hit any kind of bump or imperfection in the road and they loose all adhesion and then they take forever to recover. If I had the choice I'd dismount them and throw them away, and would do if I were rich.
So you say that the Yoko's aren't good at AutoXing or circut? I am in the market for new tires and that was the ones I was gonna get but now I hear that they suck at handling
, are they at least good for daily driving?, because I'm gonna only AutoX on weekends, till I get a second car and make the lude a trailer queen.

there is no other tire to consider for auto-x'ing than the azenis. Until you need an oddball sized tire that the azenis don't come in, running anything other than azenis is selling yourself short. the only other tires that were on cars at kansas last year were the BFG TA KD's and BS S-03's, and even then they were only about 10% of the cars there. 90% of the best autocrossers in the nation are on azenis for a reason.
the yokos aren't a competitive tire in auto-x, they're not the right compound, they're too sloppy, and they get greasy quickly under continuous hard cornering. would i daily drive the es100's? sure. Would i keep em on the car for auto-x weekend? no, i'd get a cheap set of wheels and put azenis on em and swap em in the pits.

205/50/16 size, no there's nothing wrong with the tires I've checked and double checked with the distro going above the place that I bought it and everything checks out. Go take a look at your tires again. To anyone that uses the ES100's at autocross, I can't believe they'd be competative, they're horridly sloppy in transitions and do not handle constant radius turns very well.
Do not buy the ES100's if you expect to be competative in autocross. They're ... okay... for daily driving, which is what I have them for, but I'd still choose another tire if I had the choice again. These tires are just horridly sloppy for any kind of spirited driving. They don't allow any confidence on them as they release, regrip, rollover, unpredictably due to their incredibly soft sidewall. More air doesn't help as they just start balooning at around 38 psi which is horrid since the sidewalls still look ugly at 40 and feel ugly too. If you're only going to daily drive on them they're alright, esp if you do a lot of stop light racing, but other than that I'd pick something else.

ok, i want tires for drag and for hard driving/cornering. not auto-x but taking turns HARD and FAST. which tires have both at about the 90 dollar range an below? i dotn want anything more than that cuz i am going to be selling the car in the near future thats why i also just bought a stock clutch instead of aftermarket cuz i wont have the car for a long time. i highly doubt it.
Not true, the "rimsaver" is the additional extended rubber directly around the rim and not bulging sidewalls.
If you're looking for a set of tires that meets that bill get the Kuhmo MX. Much better and the same price.

Gotta tell us what size you're looking for.
