Service Check Connector
Not the most interesting tech question, but...
I was set the timing on my 95 Civic EX today. Well when i was looking through the service manual, it said to located the white/green and brown, two terminal connector (Service Check Connector) behind the kick panel, next to the ECU. I found what i thought to be the connector, but instead of the wires being white/green and brown, there was one black and one brown wire going to the connector.
Just for my own personal knowledge, what color wires make up your 5th gen civics service connector? I just want to be positive i am jumping the right connection.

The colors may not be the same. On my EG (1993) the colors are green/white and brown/black. It will be right under the passanger side of the dash. There will also be a 3 pin connector right by it. Usually they are plugged in to this green rubber housing. Anyway, if it is by a 3pin and there is nothing connected then you have the right one. Enjoy and happy tuning...

Yep that's the one i found. I wonder if they changed the colors from year to year?

They usually don't but I mean production at Honda plants isn't going to stop if they run out of a certain color wire. They will swap in somethings different for a group of cars until the proper color is delivered.
I've seen blue and green connectors before too. Wire colors are not always the same either.
As long as it's a two-pin connector, you should be good to go.

Yeah, just an FYI to backup some of the other posts here. On my 1993 Civic del Sol the connector is in a green boot on the passenger's side. It is a 2-wire connector green and then brown.
